| Who is the nicest ITFC player (or manager) you have ever met/known? on 15:40 - Jan 25 by FifeITFC | Matt Holland. Went to one of those "ITFC Roadshow" type things they did around 1996/97 ish when 4 or 5 players (can't remember who else, but fairly sure Adam Tanner was one of them) came to the Colchester event. At the end of the night - or Q&A, I can't remember - all the players promptly left except for Holland who stayed for ages chatting with fans, doing photos etc. He made it really clear he was in no hurry and was enjoying talking with supporters etc. Really stuck out in my mind as the others had all disappeared sharp. I met him a few times. He was sitting next to me in a restaurant so I had a little chat with him. Also met him as a special treat for my little boy shortly before We lost him to cancer. My father in law arranged it and we had our photos taking with him on the hallowed turf. I have met him once since and he is an absolutely lovely bloke. | | | |

| Who is the nicest ITFC player (or manager) you have ever met/known? on 12:01 - Jan 25 by Axeldalai_lama | John Wark helped me as a nipper when I'd fallen and cut my knee running to swimming lessons at St Joseph's. I didn't know who he was, just remember a few of the adults being in awe as he passed me to them! This was probably late 80s. Seemed like a nice bloke from what I remember! |
Ha, you must be a similar age to me. I had swimming lessons there too and John's lad was in my class. From what I remember John seemed like a nice friendly normal bloke and his son was nice too.

Awesome guy :) | |

Often hanging around until nearly 5:30 / 6:00 to see the players or get n autograph. Both Micky Stockwell and Jason Dozzell were always brilliant. Simon Milton too. A shout out also to Trevor “Wheels” Kirton, lovely guy who used to drive the Team coach at the time.

Tough exterior but actually a very lovely and knowledgeable guy. He spent a long time explaining to me the hidden messages in supertramps logical song. Unfortunately, he does like a punch up.

| Who is the nicest ITFC player (or manager) you have ever met/known? on 18:45 - Jan 25 with 755 views | cymroglas | Have met probably less than 10…. Jason Dozzell was great. Spoke to him for about half an hour where he was humble and friendly almost a bit shy. Asked about me and, as much as I asked him lots of questions, was not all about him. | | | |
| Who is the nicest ITFC player (or manager) you have ever met/known? on 19:41 - Jan 25 with 707 views | hoppy | Jay Tabb… had a lovely train ride back from London sat next to him - really genuine guy and happy to chat. Luke Chambers always says hello whenever he sees me. His son is in the same form at school as our daughter. Janoi is such a lovely guy, as others have said. He popped round to our house once to pick up a large birthday card to get it signed by all the players for Yasmin’s birthday and then dropped it back to us after getting it done. He also delayed the coach back from a preseason game when he saw us and got off the coach to have a chat to us, after we’d been chatting for a while, everyone else was on the coach and they were just waiting for him. Milts is another great guy, always good to have a chat with, as is Jason Dozzell - we spoke to him after the Blackburn game, and he was torn as he enjoys watching us, but also has to get to Portsmouth games when he can too. | |

| Who is the nicest ITFC player (or manager) you have ever met/known? on 20:39 - Jan 25 with 644 views | Blaggers12 | I'm going to say Mick McCarthy. I took a group of students to Playford Road a few years ago as part of a rewards trip, and MM shook every kid's hand, asked some really geniune questions, and spent time with the group talking to them. It was a far contrast from when I took another group a few years previously and they ran into Roy Keane. | |

Craig Forrest a smashing chap indeed. James Scowcroft also once bought me a beer in Bromley when he was at Palace and had finished training. Had a nice chat, and clearly loved Ipswich Town. Top fellow.

| Who is the nicest ITFC player (or manager) you have ever met/known? on 23:42 - Jan 25 with 390 views | Hugoagogo_Reborn | I worked at ITFC from 2002 to 2017. My favourite managers were: Joe Royle - genuinely just pleasant and amicable Mick McCarthy - he remembered the names of staff and what he talked to them about and would say things like "how's your daughter?" etc. He was a good human being. Interestingly, Roy Keane was always very polite and respectful to me, but I know that wasn't the experience others had. My favourite players: Tommy Miller and Ian Westlake - genuine and down to earth Jimmy Bullard - hilarious Jason De Vos - super professional and extremely polite Luke Varney - quite aside from the fact I had a crush on him, he was a very nice person. I will not be offering a worst list, though. That wouldn't be wise, or nice. 😂 [Post edited 25 Jan 23:45]
