| Menu regret 17:08 - Feb 16 with 2263 views | Mullet | I dunno if that’s a thing or I’ve made it up. But I ordered something today with dinner and it sounded so weird it was worth the risk, when I got it, I immediately regretted it. Dubbed something like a Cherrypresso it was cherry syrup, cold brew espresso, Dr Pepper and cream. All things I like and I figured it was some mad alchemy, they wouldn’t put it on the menu if it wasn’t good. It wasn’t good. Depending on the mix it ranged from rank to weird to gag worthy. I’ve had bad meals or drinks, underwhelming ones and that before, but never something that’s genuinely made me wonder if I was being punished somehow. Anyone else got any dining horror stories? | |

| Menu regret on 17:15 - Feb 16 with 1629 views | bsw72 | Just why would you order that? Don't get the whole adding stuff to coffee - a good black coffee made with a decent roast bean is already sooooo good. As is a cup of tea (dependent on the tea quality obvs), with a dash of milk. Generally coffee in the morning to about 10am, then tea through the day. If I am out for dinner I won't have dessert (unless they have Affogato), but will have a black americano, or double espresso. However if I am at home I will usually have a cup of tea or two in the evening. Don't tend to drink fizzy stuff but am partial to a Ribena :-) Surely the term "Cherrypresso" should have been all you need to know. | | | |

Yeah - sorry about that. Been a tough day at work and I got a bit ranty . . . You having to drink that swill should have been punishment enough

I went last night and it was nice, although the chicken thighs were a little over-cooked. (I'm available for more reviews if anyone wants)

| Menu regret on 17:22 - Feb 16 with 1562 views | _CliveBaker_ | I've found I tend to be the one who creates food envy from others. I've got a good track record of ordering well and normally when it arrives people are annoyed they didn't get what I've got. So much so that I've become a bit of an influencer with it, I've noticed my wife waits to see what I'm having before she chooses. Does bring a lot of pressure though, I feel the weight of expectation with it. | | | |

You brought it all upon yourself. I don’t often judge but in this case, you deserve it.

....when we are in a decent restaurant, particularly overseas, my missus deliberately delays ordering her food so that she can have a good look at what everyone else is getting. Once she has ordered she then spends the rest of the time telling me what everyone else has got and whether she should have ordered it. It drives me mad.

| Menu regret on 18:00 - Feb 16 with 1344 views | Hugoagogo_Reborn | Hubby once ordered an Apple Crumble at a 'canine named' pub just outside Sproughton. He took two bites and started laughing so hard he had tears in his eyes. When I requested an explanation, he said "this is basically brick dust with custard". We haven't eaten there since, but at least he found the funny side. | |

Me too. I had a really dodgy builder once and we never did sort out the bodge job he made of our bathroom floor.

I have that situation also. I will always order what makes me salivate as I read it. Generally it is a special but not always. Then the family all try a bit and go, that is delicious I wished I had ordered that. Meanwhile they all order the usual fair they always have. But my eldest is now becoming more adventurous as we have encouraged him to eat real food not American processed shi t. Working on the youngest taste buds now.
