I was seriously thinking of jacking this place in - just cant stand the negativity every time a player makes a mistake or a don't play at the top of our game. Think I'll try to stick around a bit longer.

Well if you really want to know I thought it was an excellent, professional performance and I was delighted for both scorers (and the keeper). Not every post after a game has to be about the game though. It's worth noting (although it'll probably fall on deaf ears) that you don't lose your shizzle/throw the baby out with the bathwater after one game.

Yeah, by the players, of each other. Which seems to have worked. [Post edited 24 Feb 23:23]

I’m with you entirely on this Vic. The only reason I’ve stayed with it is the people who I have time for and respect, even if I disagree with them sometimes (the whole point is differing views in addition to stuff you might agree with). Those people know who they are. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

quick point of order though, we do need them to lose a few more than us so we can catch up. but i take your point

Cov we do, but win our games in hand (yes...I know!) and we're above Middlesbrough, then we can lose as many as them (as long as one isn't the game against them!).

Point of order For Boro, if we match their results, win our games in hand and don’t lose to them, we finish above them. We don’t need them to lose more games than us. It would, of course, help…

When you don’t win one, externally it’s going to be seen as some version of a disaster. “But we have to stay calm, get ready for the next game...' That's a lovely little phrase, almost having a bit of a laugh - not at the fans who do see it as some version of a disaster, but at the situation we are in in the world today where things are so polarised. If we can have a gentle laugh about it, even maybe people who've gone off on one when it hasn't gone right can have a little quiet, gentle laugh at themselves, maybe we can learn to take the edge of the responses next time the situation comes around. As it will.

Its definitely a lot easier for him to be chilled compared to some fans. Just as an example. From saturday alot of posts about oshea. What was he doing etc etc. But sitting down after the game. They get to talk about it. Oshea can explain why things happened. And they discuss it to minimise it happening again Look at today. Player runs in free on goal. Oshea nudges him off the ball at the last minute. Rewind a few days. Free shot at goal. Etc etc

I tend to give this place (and other social media) a miss for a few days after a bad performance. Let the emotional incontinence run its course and then come back! People far too low after losses but also far too high after some wins I think.

You were probably here when Marcus Bent was the worst signing ever, best signing ever after six goal scoring streak, how have we lost to Bolton? Names and faces change - people (and football) stay the same….
