Try explaining what happened in that match to an average six year old and they’ll simply look confused. The adults booing a few players getting a drinks break there are all grade A c**ts.

I'm assuming the sun had set and that's why they were breaking fast - as is customary!

Tommy Ten Names and his band of arseshats are one thing, but it really didn’t help that we had an Islamophobic Home Secretary fanning the flames in Braverman. I could understand it if she was Hindu, but she’s supposed to be Bhuddist ffs.

Yes of course you are right it would have been dark and grim at that time (when isn’t it ooooop North) You’d think Leeds with such a large Muslim population nearly 10% in fact would be a little more understanding towards them as you can safely presume a lot of the fans in the stadium are Muslim or have family or friends that are and should know their requirements/needs ? Pity the poor sods that live up in the higher reaches of Scandinavia.

I don’t get the outrage that has occurred over a few blokes being allowed a drink, this isn’t a new thing, it’s happened for years.

I sthis actually associated with something I read the other day? Effectively creating a break in play to do it? Whilst I absolutely believe in freedom of thought and religion, it is not a huge surprise that people react if the game is stopped (or cynically delayed through an "injury" for it.

Bit unfair expecting them to be as intelligent as the average six year old.

Does anyone know ? Don't think we have any other Muslim players anymore but I'd be keen to find out.

The game is paused when there is a natural break i.e. goal kick etc The game is not stopped whilst in flow just for a break. Players cause breaks two or three times a game with fake injuries but you don't get the same reaction because it has nothing to do with religion. Basically what I'm saying is those Leeds fans who booed are a bunch of pathetic racists

Yes, how dare they slightly extend a natural break in play to allow the Muslim players to eat a couple of dates, and have a few swigs of isotonic drink.

I havent seen it. I saw suggestions of fake injuries and abnormal delays to facilitate it. I am caught between saying thats a reaosnable adjustment to make, and saying that religions are all rather silly and we ought not to pander to them!

Couple of the usual suspects haven’t added their smudge of disapproval yet, but always useful to get a reminder of just who they are.

I did wonder that myself a few weeks back just out of interest in regards to if Sammy had any influence in him coming here as he does seem to be held in high regard by all but especially Muslim players it’s fair to say seeing him over the last seasons we know that. It certainly wasn’t obvious if he is .. and checking again I find that’s the case .. if he is ,he’s not “out and proud” wrong phrase but you know what I mean. Albania is 50% Muslim but is a secular society like Türkiye and the UK .. he’s an Islington boy anyway and mehmeti surname does have a strong Islamic origin.

The 'you can't say anything these days' crowd don't like it when you say anything.

And yet not of them will have the courage to pop their head up out of the swamp and clarify their ‘thinking’ in anything approaching a coherent version of their precious mother tongue. The only consolation, however depressing it might be, is that the only thing they have in common with the decent majority is the team they support. Small victories I guess.
