The photo that gets me is if it's real all the Farage 10 shirts hung up in changing room, when we did a tour we were told we weren't allowed to touch the shirts hanging up, and my youngest was told off for leaning back and his head brushing one
If the club have allowed them to set the dressing room up like that then the story of "it's just a tour they paid for" simply doesn't wash.
The other bits are achievable and would have been hard to stop - we could have taken shirts to hold up by pitch; or pretended to sign when sitting there as all that was allowed. |
It's certainly a helluva a lot of shirts to have inside an A4 bag without the club knowing isn't it? Still, I'm sure the staff members involved were only following orders... |  | | |

Unless we are suggesting that they brought their own coathangers as well, it seems a stretch...
I see no obvious markers of AI on the photos. For instance the writing on all of the shirts (including the small stuff) is all proper writing rather than the gobbledigook AI would have produced.

Stopping the tour may well have been difficult . Reform are a registered political party, Farage is a Member of Parliament. However, the club could have stipulated that no images featuring the club’s trademarked logos and images may be used to promote the Nigel Farage MP or Reform UK.
I think that is negligent of Ashton and his staff. |  |

Dear Mark,
As a season ticket holder for over 30 years, I would like to put on record my shame at the pictures coming out today by the Reform Party and Nigel Farage around his visit to Ipswich and the Club.
You personally have been fantastic for our football club, and I am grateful to you for everything you have done since you have joined - you have given my father and I wonderful memories that I will hold close to me for as long as I live.
However, Ipswich has a long history of diversity, and the town itself is a beautiful melting pot of cultures, who have been oppressed and victimised by a small pocket of far-right monsters in the town over increasing years. This sort of action will add fuel to the fire, and will make people believe parties like Reform and their values are justified and endorsed by the club. At best it is a very ignorant decision. At worst, it is provocative and dangerous. Not to mention, Ipswich is currently a Labour county.
The club has got this badly, badly wrong. We are a welcoming, family club with players and fans of all backgrounds.
I encourage you and the club to make a statement distancing yourself from the noise Reform is currently building.

They’re projected to win 46-54/70 seats in the council elections in May in Suffolk. The club are working with the council a lot currently and will need to continue these good relations from May. If we stop working with them just because of political beliefs then that will hold the club back, I don’t think it’s difficult to work out why. I’d expect the same from the club if it was any of the political leaders listed above.
Everyone wants free speech until it’s a difference of opinion to there’s. It’s boring going on this forum and seeing everyone just bash each other because of politics, feels at times this is more of a politics forum than a football forum. I don’t agree with reforms policies, but could have a drink with someone who does, I don’t agree with the green parties policies but again could go have a drink with someone who does.

46/54 out of the 70 seats in Suffolk are going to Reform if you read the polls. If they are then correct come May, then what as the majority of the county would agree with the club would they not?
What happens then? I feel as if this is just one big echo chamber and a lot of people are in for a big shock the future.

Talk to people, listen to why they feel that way and then educate people with the facts of why there wrong. Thats the way to beat them! If we just call everyone racist and bigoted then they’re going to get defensive, not listen and continue the way they are.

Pretending they are not bigotted and racist is normalising and paving the way for them. It makes their racism and bigotry increasingly acceptable and emboldens people. Call it out when you see it before its too late.
That does nto detract from the wider point that one has to try to understand and engage with why people are drawn to them. Though a lot of that has to do with right wing media, propaganda and divisive politics. | |

I think its probably just a real lack of foresight, which in itself begs a lot of questions. You know with complete certainty that when you open the door to any political party they could use the materials / images however they see fit.
I don't doubt for a second it would've been played down by Reform, something like 'we'll be in the area with a few hours to kill, a number of our team are football supporters and we thought it would be a nice thing to do as a group before our event in the Town later that day'. You would have to be foolish to believe it though, and whoever in PR signed this off is a proper numpty. |
