Reform have used the club's Intellectual Property, and private property, to make a promotional video. It's a commercial. Big difference between editorial socials and promotional use. Some say there's a grey area when it comes to public relations. This is not one of those grey areas. Reform's video is commercial. Categorically. There's no exemptions here and if the club didn't agree to them doing so they have legal grounds to make them remove said content. If the club don't do so it speaks volumes.
Farage is more polarising than other politicians of course, but the issue would be the same if it were Starmer, Polanski or Lord Buckethead. I'd question the club in those circumstances just as I have done today after that seeing that video.

You've come across with this logic in a few places and I don't think it's fair or reasonable. If we want to deal with just facts, Nigel Farage and his social media team attended Portman Road and shot a load of promotional content. That's it.
Everything else is alleged and disputed. Ipswich have claimed through initial reports to the press that he wasn't invited. Alleged, no evidence provided. They said he bought and paid for the shirt to be printed. Again, all alleged, no evidence. If we hold every piece of information to the same standard you've held the journalists, my allegations that he was greeted personally by Mark Ashton and given a cheeky tug in the directors box before being given a shirt is just as valid as the clubs official account or the Athletics. |
