| Had you seen the Reform video before posting this Lowers? on 21:18 - Mar 25 by Dyland | Reform have used the club's Intellectual Property, and private property, to make a promotional video. It's a commercial. Big difference between editorial socials and promotional use. Some say there's a grey area when it comes to public relations. This is not one of those grey areas. Reform's video is commercial. Categorically. There's no exemptions here and if the club didn't agree to them doing so they have legal grounds to make them remove said content. If the club don't do so it speaks volumes. Farage is more polarising than other politicians of course, but the issue would be the same if it were Starmer, Polanski or Lord Buckethead. I'd question the club in those circumstances just as I have done today after that seeing that video. At the risk of sounding like a dick, I know what I'm talking about on the legal side having worked in IP licensing rights clearance for over thirty years. And been good at it, before you say ;) [Post edited 25 Mar 21:24]

You'd think someone at Birketts knows about these things and is aware of Farage posing with their Logo in the background...

Like you, I'd be angry about any politician, other than the local mp, using the club in this way. But it's also remarkably dim to pretend that Farage isn't more polarising than other mps. Precisely this. He’s joined by a very small band of our community who are the same. Many of them for decades now. Best avoided, given the complete intransigence of their behaviour. The idea that it’s 40 or so on here that hold a dim view on the clubs response to this weeks events has been fully debunked and discredited, but pitting yourself against the board is a hill to die on for these very peculiar people.

I've been twice and never been greeted by communications director. Last went last year, just met by tour guides and a video from Ashton.

| Blue Action Communicating Better Than The Club on 13:40 - Mar 25 by Ralphinho | You know what, fair play BA. A new level of respect from me. Being fans themselves, they obviously understand and 'get it', unlike those at the club calling the shots. Would love to see BA holding the club to account on this, coordinating resources and fan-power until we get a proper explanation from the club. |
No , now just let it go and move on for the sake of the season. It was a good statement which doesn’t go over the top like many on here have done . Sometimes in life you have to accept a mistake and move on otherwise it will drag you down further with no end. So many people I know honestly are not bothered by this but a few keep wanting to make a bigger issue , Farage took club for a bit if a ride unfortunately now sod him and let’s get back to promotion please .

That didn't happen. That was AI.

| Blue Action Communicating Better Than The Club on 14:28 - Mar 25 by lowhouseblue | He went on a stadium tour and he was filmed at all the points where other people on those tours are filmed. his pr people exploited the fact that the tour allows someone to do that. if it had been polanski doing the same there would have been absolute delight on here. to pretend otherwise is silly. |
Are you really this stupid? It wasn’t an ‘ordinary stadium tour’ by any stretch of the imagination. I don’t remember shirts with my name all over the changing room or having lunch with the CEO (I’m getting on a bit so maybe I’ve forgotten). You you raise ‘Polanski’ as some kind of counter argument. Rubbish. We shouldn’t have any political party, figure or representative using ITFC for political gain - which is what has happened here.

| Blue Action Communicating Better Than The Club on 15:21 - Mar 25 by Kievthegreat | You've come across with this logic in a few places and I don't think it's fair or reasonable. If we want to deal with just facts, Nigel Farage and his social media team attended Portman Road and shot a load of promotional content. That's it. Everything else is alleged and disputed. Ipswich have claimed through initial reports to the press that he wasn't invited. Alleged, no evidence provided. They said he bought and paid for the shirt to be printed. Again, all alleged, no evidence. If we hold every piece of information to the same standard you've held the journalists, my allegations that he was greeted personally by Mark Ashton and given a cheeky tug in the directors box before being given a shirt is just as valid as the clubs official account or the Athletics. |
Just wanted to point out that my telling of events is getting closer and closer to confirmed. Does anyone have any information on whether Mark had to change his trousers?
