Only just seen your post Frimley, sorry.

This is exactly why the club's reputation is in tatters until he's gone.

That particular one says far more about Reform than anyone at the club.

But it says a lot about a person at the club who invited Reform in, lied about it, has still not answered questions about it and, in a statement, not mentioned the concerns or issues once. Ashton,I presume, condones this.

The more I think about the saga the more certain and angry I get. To do what he has done shows complete arrogance and a runaway ego. To use the clubs name and facilities in such a wanton way clearly shows how he believes he has complete control and power over the running of the club. A complete disregard of other people's views and feelings, both the players, staff and fans. The non-apology that was choked from him after several days of silence. I cannot see how he can stay but I don't have endless faith in perhaps 30 to 50% of our fan base. They are either apathetic but even worse compliant, though I will eagerly eat humble pie if that is proved wrong. Ashton I'm sure counted on that. Get the 2-week gap to neutralise enough ill-feeling. It may have to be the players and the manager who wield the knife.

At best a shockingly poor decision for a CEO.

In reality a dereliction of duty.

No, but move on. He's said he's sorry. Doesn't matter that no one knows what for. It's just more lefty woke nonsense and you are scuppering the team's chance of promotion. It is definitely not the lying pos at the head of the organisation who has divided the fan base. I mean he said himself, we all need to pull together, so just get over yourself.

Ashton out

A good chairman would come out and say how deplorable it is for a political party with questionable views about women to hijack a brilliant painting of our fantastic woman's team for their own means

Ours probably gave permission for reform to do so along with a few more gifted shirts

Get him out of our club

That is clear copyright infringement so steps can be taken. I'm assuming ashton won't have the decency to call reform out on it. Which speaks volumes.

To be 100% honest I think there's a very good claim of copyright infringement from the photographers of the original images that Cobbold dutifully copies as photorealistic paintings, it's an interesting area with some case law but unless she had explicit permission I am not totally sure she can claim to be changing the original images to sufficient extent.

That said, yes, there is a very strong case from her to Reform's abuse, and that could extend to personal damages as well as copyright.

I suspect there is permission given it is a club thing. No personal damages... But Ashton should be calling this out. Perfect opportunity to show distance from reform and demonstrate principles and support of our values...

He won't.

She can't have agreed to that, can she?

I hope she engages a top legal firm and gets top rate compensation for defamation of character and misuse of her image.

That is utterly disgraceful from Reform.

The club likely do not own the license to the photos. That *can* be assigned to another than the photographer, but it's relatively unusual. If images are by an in house photographer it's more likely, but images by PA or freelance photographers will nearly always retain their licence, and it would not be in the gift of the club to award them to any third party.

Come on. Fill the dots.

There is the original image. A top artist holding a wonderful picture she has drawn for the matchday programme for a women's football match.

Above it is the same photo edited by a racist to show a racist who hates women's football holding a shirt on the hallowed Portman Road turf and laughing.

I don't know but I assume they're owned by Matchday Images, who work as official photographers, so there wouldn't be an issue there.

I would assume that you have some fairly strong opinions on the whole situation yourself but probably feel in a situation where you can't particularly articulate them as you need to remain dispassionate from it and simply report on the facts surrounding it.
