It's by no means an easy situation, but the right thing to do is deal with this properly in June. That's not me saying forget what's happened by June. The wounds are clearly there and deep, but a resignation/sacking is far too simplistic a view over a business as big as this. |

As a previous poster has said, how on earth do you expect to recruit a replacement right now? This is not a simple solution. Top targets are likely to be deep in their own respective seasons and will almost certainly have notice periods, just like Ashton did at Brizzle. |

I would have demanded a meeting and an explanation. If he gave them the one the club gave to the media initially, that might have been satisfactory. There would have been no issue with Farage booking a stadium tour, taking a few pics and sharing them on social media with altering a few images to make it look like he was sat in front of a row of Farage 10 shirts in the dressing room. It may have been time to review policies and ensure images from stadium tours couldn't be used in political campaigning, etc. Nodge's troll of us shows that sort of thing is just easy to do.
Once it was clear he had lied and tried to cover it up, it is possible that demanding a proper apology and putting things right could have seen him hang on to his position while they found someone more suitable who would deal with the owners with integrity and honesty.
Without that clear and genuine apology I don't see how he can be allowed to remain in place. At levels below Ashton the club has stated that it is demanding high levels of integrity of its staff. It is currently acting with gross hypocrisy on that. | |

Sorry, but I don't think there is any credible source left to suggest that Farage 'hijacked' anything. He was, by the most recent and respected accounts: invited, given the materials for his promo shots in the dressing room and a private lunch with the CEO & COO.
Also the reason those clubs don't get called Starmer FC or Balls FC is because they don't do professional promos with those clubs in anyway like the same way. It's funny that this is the thumbnail for a GBeebies news story called: "Outrage over Nigel Farage's Ipswich visit is a joke, where were these crybabies over Keir Starmer's Arsenal freebies?" and the best image they can find is him actually attending a game.
