When we go up who do we keep, who gets let go and who do we get in. We will be starting from a stronger base than last time.

Think we have a small group of players who will continue to develop or are ok for prem

We do however have a group who quite simply imo have reached their peak and will need to go but with our thanks

Wes
Taylor
Palmer
Baggott
Humphreys
Azon
Hirst
Townsend
Johnson
Akpom
Ogbene
Chaplin
Kipre
H clarke
Button

All to go imo

Incomings from champ season
Hackney
Louza
Rushworth
Fatawu

Other incomings
C Wilson

Then its over to the recruitment team to really dive into what makes a premiership signing.

We will need a good 10/11 top quality signings. And it needs tonbe top quality

Time imo to take that risk financially otherwise we will never be able to become that stable prem side unless we build a squad that can keep us up.

The thing is as well those that were with us in the PL last season have had a season under their belt now, so know what to expect and know what they will have to improve on, when we went up before as we know nearly the whole squad didn’t have any PL experience whatsoever. Just a small gain but will stand us in good stead.

There is to the fact that weve played a vastly different style of km football this season which is much more prem ready.

Promotion season we conceded goals for fun.

And I don’t think that’s been by accident, we will be well prepped and IMHO we don’t need any new starting defenders except MAYBE at right back.

Need to tap that continental market this time like Sunderland (and our signing of the season Matisuwa). GK and CB the most important in my opinion given our leaky defence last time round.

Were in an incredibly strong position, but not counting my chickens on the autos just yet!

Some of those names I would debate most I agree with but how have you got Kipre in there he has been on of the stand out players this season. Pound for pound he is worth every penny spent.

Think Burns may be let go in the summer.

He had been just not sure prem quality. Its incredibly difficult to know tbh. So just picked him out of the others as I do think wed bring in someone with prem experience.

But I did find myself late last night hoping we really do have our international scouting network in place and working overtime.

Will be very interesting to see our r3cruitment this time (IF we get promoted)

Feels disrespectful to talk about letting people go while they are still fighting to get us up.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us go back for Hackney (although he will have better offers IMO) and Caceres,

Hopefully then add some experience and athletes.

The players who will move on aren't daft. They will know that we are unlikely to take them into the Prem. Townsend and Button will immediately free up two spots, then there will be a huge question about Baggott, I don't think we'll keep him, nor Cam Humphreys.

I don't see any route back for Ogbene, Chaplain or Muric, Szmods will be let go for £3-4m, probably to Derby. Burns will likely be let go. Azon will go back to Como, I don't see him getting a contract here. Young is obviously on his way out and I remain to be convinced that Taylor will be retained.

There's going to be another huge turnover of players this summer, but we can't just buy the best Championship players again, we've got to look at European top flight players. Can't imagine that we won't be scouting the world cup extensively.

I think for both Cajuste and Akpom we are likely to either pay a penalty fee to get out of it or sell/loan them out.

But I may be wrong

We still have Sammy smods on our books. Every penny we can get from our squad will need to be put into athletic players.
Where we get a quality prem striker from will be our biggest problem.

Yup. Greaves has been a slow burner in terms of developing his decision making, but he's there now, and he has all of the physicals and abilities to be a PL first choice LCB. Dara always was. Leif is just perfect, still an attacking force, but slightly more restrained this time around. Furlong might be good enough - he certainly has the nous, but pace might be an issue - oh for Axel again!

Good work by Philogene...... GREAT WORK BY PHILOGENE!!!

It feels harsh saying it after he has just had a stormer in the Derby but should we go up I would be absolutely going out and buying another staring calibre centre half.

Greaves will have a chance to win the place but you cant leave anything to chance and I don't think Greaves and O'Shea is a partnership that keeps you in the prem. Sunderland nailed it with Alderete. 29 years old 5/6 years of top flight football. That is what you need imo.

And it's for that reason that I'm quite confident Wes will still be part of this squad next season, physically, he's exactly what we want from an attacking winger. Gives balance to the more creative, shall we say, a little less "beefy" left hand side.

Priority has to be a #9 though.
