| If McKenna leaves on 13:01 - Apr 15 by ElderGrizzly | Steve Cooper in the PL would be one of the most uninspiring appointments ever. I'd imagine we'd go for someone with a bit more experience than a McKenna style appointment straight into the PL, but someone who matches his style/ethos. Frank would be an interesting shout, but his whole thing is about pragmatism and more direct football which we'd struggle with. If Ashton is true to his word, we'd probably already know who that next manager is too. He always talked about having his short-list of replacements. [Post edited 15 Apr 13:02]

Like Dyche, but not his style of football.

| If McKenna leaves on 19:41 - Apr 15 with 726 views | ottovonbismark | if we are in the PL - Danny Rohl? He probably wouldn't leave Rangers. Championship - Brian Barry Murphy? | | | |
| If McKenna leaves on 01:21 - Apr 16 with 657 views | TownieRob | If McKenna does go this summer (I think he does btw), you would expect Ashton to already have planned for it and I’d imagine they’ll be very similar profiles to what we went for with KMc. Personally I wouldn’t expect us to go down the obvious route of a 'name' manager or at least someone who has managed in the Prem already e.g Cooper with limited success. I'd expect a similar model meaning a younger, highly rated coach already working at a top level club. Someone like Justin Cochrane at Spurs or Aaron Danks at Bayern (yes, a big ask I know) High-level coaches used to elite environments and focused on player development, that sounds familiar doesnt it.. *I'd throw Anthony Barry in there as well. Assitant to Tuchel. Mousinho is a fair shout but I do think the club will be looking at the next one before everyone else does or has already taken a chance one them. That’s basically the model that’s got us here, so I’d be surprised if we moved away from it. [Post edited 16 Apr 2:48]

| If McKenna leaves on 12:54 - Apr 15 by pingu67 | Certainly doing an impressive job at lincoln. I can't say i know an awful amount about him or Lincoln aside from the fact they are going up as champions Without knowing anything about him, would there be any rusk of another paul hurst type appointment? |
That is always a risk when you take a manager who has impressed in a lower league but has had no success at the higher level. That is also the reason why I am pretty relaxed about Kieren still being here, I don't think a Bournemouth or Palace would take a gamble on him.

If he stays, I’ve zero faith in him replacing McKenna. It’s all about control. That’s why he appointed a young manager. Sean the channel with McKenna as a coach, he wants to control talent ID and everything else. That’s not how premier league clubs operate. And it limits us to a man who has had ZERO success at that level in 36 years for a reason. The owners need to wake up. Hands off the wheel hasn’t worked.

| If McKenna leaves on 19:11 - Apr 16 with 312 views | Blue_Heath | If in prem preferably someone with experience of keeping a team up so I'd go Thomas Frank as a realistic possibility but would he want the risk of two potential successive relegations (albeit Spurs not down yet and not all his fault). In reality we'll get someone we've never heard of! | |
