Does anyone know what angles the ref saw on reviewing it? From the one angle shown on the highlights, there is not a chance in hell that is a clear and obvious error. You can't possibly say with any confidence that the ball touched his hand there.

I have to say it's one of the worst and most bizarre decisions I've ever seen. The only way I could understand a pen there is if the ref had given it accidentally in real time thinking hand ball. Then you would expect VAR to overturn it. How can anyone think that is handball on video given the physics of how that ball bounces off his head! A ball hitting a stationary hand does not bounce miles off into the sky. It's his head!
That needs investigating. Not one Celtic player appeals for handball. They are desperate but the only thing they ask for is for a foul.

How on earth can you tell that from the replay? Apologies if there is a close up slo mo of the incident but the highlights I have seen only show a slo mo of the incident from the standard camera angle and there is not a chance you can say it definitely hit his hand. I'm thinking of the forensic detail the refs went into when trying to work out if there was a handball during that goal when Man Utd played Liverpool the other week. They had a close up and played it over and over and still weren't sure it hit his hand.

No one is hating on Celtic. The vast majority of football fans are rooting for the underdog and would like to see someone from outwith the old firm win the league.
People are then pointing out the massive inconsistent decisions that have cost Heats two points on Saturday and gifted Celtic two points last night.

No way, let them have their pointless little league over there, we don't need to add another unbearable fan base to this pyramid. Can imagine them stuck in League 1 for 5 years having to be constantly reassured by the media that they're a massive club with an incredible fanbase.

Can't see how that is given on the angles I've seen. His arm is up but you can't tell from the footage whether it touches his hand or not, it's clear he gets a solid head on the ball and if it touches the hand at all it's the barest brush that you certainly can't make out from the TV angle. Ridiculous that VAR has asked the ref to take a look and even more ridiculous that he's given it so quickly. Would Hearts have been given it? I doubt it.

I don't think it's obvious under the rules. It's very much up for debate.
"Law 12: It is an offence if a player: - deliberately touches the ball with their hand/arm, for example moving the hand/arm towards the ball" It doesn't look deliberate to me, the arm is up for the dual but he doesn't move it away from the natural motion of the jump and towards the ball instead.
"- touches the ball with their hand/arm when it has made their body unnaturally bigger. A player is considered to have made their body unnaturally bigger when the position of their hand/arm is not a consequence of, or justifiable by, the player’s body movement for that specific situation. By having their hand/arm in such a position, the player takes a risk of their hand/arm being hit by the ball and being penalised" (my emphasis) There's a good argument the hand is in a position justifiable because of jumping with the opposition. He's leaning off his opponent, trying to get above him.
Next, despite a justifiable position being allowed the rules are unclear as they say the player takes a risk of being penalised. That's a very messy/unclear part of the rule. If they are allowed to do something, they shouldn't then be taking a risk by doing it.
It definitely hits his hand, but I'd be interested to hear the ref's reasoning for why he thought the arm wasn't in a justifiable position or why he thought it was deliberate.
It's one of those where you risk it being given and we do see them given. But it's not clear whether they should be given under the rules. It's not part of the rules (and maybe it should be) but he gains no advantage at all.
