Totally embraced the club from day 1 and 'got it'. He leaves a hero and we owe so much to him for where we are.

One of my favourite players on and off the pitch.
I would say woukd of the most influential players for our back to back promotions other than Morsey

Gutted. Obviously the right call from the club and for him, but another B2B gone. :*(

His goal away against Derby in 22/23 probably remains my favourite ever KM era goal.

What a player and person.

The last surviving original member of coffee club departs. Club is much changed since those days!

Great shame he never got a proper send off and could embrace his last game at PR like Burns may have.

Fantastic player and a great bloke. Without doubt a modern day ITFC legend.

Great guy who gave loads to the local area.

And a crucially important player, that number 10 role was never the same without him.

Gutting. This has derailed my day.

Hope he gets to come back for some sort of send off at least.

For me, the most important player of that promotion squad. He will be missed and will be a legend.

What lovely words.

Proper Town legend and a top top guy. Miss you Chappers

PS - There's advice and a helpline for those affected and upset by his very positive words about Mark Ashton, we are thinking of you at this difficult time xx

A true Blue, going to be difficult to find players in the future in the same mould as Morsy, Burns and Chaplin

Ahhh. still bleating on about it I see. A thread to celebrate a great servant to our club and you want to make it about MA. Yep. Not obsessed at all.

Him absolutely pegging it across the pitch after Sarmiento's goal against Soton will always be one of my favourite moments

Still amazes me we were able to get someone from one of the playoff teams who had scored double digit goals to join us in L1 for £600k.

Whatever he thinks he has to thank the club for, we have ten times more to thank him for.

Mate - see the EARLIER thread on the mural - which gives me 100% of the justification I need.

The lack of self-awareness is STUNNING

The longer you lot bleat on about it, the more I will post back.

I just promise not to start it.....

Incredible player for us, a fantastic natural finisher.

There should be some top level Championship teams looking at him - if you play him correctly, he'll score loads for you.

Wherever him and Burns go (if Burns leaves), I will be looking out for their results, and will have a soft spot for those teams.

It's easy to warm to players like Chaplin.

Gave everything, every single time, he really did seem to take Ipswich to heart though quite obviously a huge Portsmouth fan.

Forever a Town legend, the goals, the character, the aforementioned 'coffee club' was a great way for us to get to know the players what felt like, a much more personal level, and Chappers was one of those really good guys, someone you would loved to have sit and have a drink with.

Gutted he's leaving, but wow....5 years!!!!!! That's gone in a flash!

Nearly 1 in 3 from a player in the hole... 13 goals in his last season, love that he score in the premier league, that'll never leave.

That run though. Across the pitch.

One of the best.

Good luck!

"Conor Chaplin Baby" !!

Top bloke, and what a contribution he's made in his time here.

Go well Chappers, I hope he tears it up at his next club.

That header vs Sunderland my favourite Chaplin goal.

Just an absolute explosion of passion in his celebration.
