I will definitely be cheering on Hull though.

Boro did not get a fair game.

I'm in agreement. They cheated and it was wrong but they technically (according to the 72 hour rule) only cheated for the first leg.

Southampton won the second leg fair and square so legally I'm not quite sure how you just discount that totally.

The right outcome on balance. The final was never going to be banished and it is one absolute can't miss fixture in a season for me. Team Hull for sure though.

I'm just pleased that the ultimate deterrent has been passed. Heads need to roll over this. The decent fans of SFC have been severely let down by their club.

Cheated against other clubs too though, maybe more than they haven’t admitted to. Why should Boro just be the ones to benefit from it?

I doubt Hull will ever have as many supporters as they're going to have on Saturday again, for the rest of their existence! In a way I'm slightly torn as I tipped Boro to win the play offs, but not this way. So another " honorary Tiger " for the day!

The second leg was affected by the fact that Boro players and manager knew they had been spied on. So I don't think the won it fairly and squarely. The Boro players were losing their heads, and the manager did too. They entered that fixture with a lot of ill feeling. You could argue that might have been an advantage for them, but in reality these days, with the tactics involved, I think it is far more about sticking calmly to a game plan. If you are more interested in breaking someones legs, then that probably is a hinderence. Either way, the fact they cheated in the way they did turns my stomach, it is quite outrageous. If their management team have been found to be involved, then they should get a ban imo, it is no different to tampering with a cricket ball, cheating is cheating.

My initial reaction was “just give it to hull”

If Boro now win , hull have got a case to say they couldn’t prepare enough
Also worth noting both ITFC have got a case (for more
Points) and Oxford (for relegation)

It’s caused a right mess .

Is this the best outcome? Probably not - but someone’s got to lose . So it could well be hull

Charge Man City for their crimes and relegate them.

Promote Hull automatically.

Saints vs Boro at Wembley for the fourth spot.

Easy :D

Oxford were four points from safety in the end anyway.

Agree, boro rightly protested before the semi, played it anyway and should have won tbf, lost it and went back to protesting the rules. Just seems like having it both ways and getting through regardless.

Between the mule and the wolf, I don’t think you have a cat in hell’s chance of that ‘logic’ withstanding any scrutiny.

What happens now if Boro beat Hull? Will Hull complain they’ve spent most of the week planning to play Southampton and th change has affected their game plan. Think Boro will win but hopefully Hull can.

Plus by cheating against us they got 1 point, failure to get that point would have meant they finish 5th & Boro 4th, and the first leg of the playoffs at Southampton instead of it being at Boro. All additional advantages to Southampton.

Nope, It gave them the edge if anything because Saints got caught, go watch that first half of the first leg. Squad depth clearly came through in the second leg.

Boro going up with be very bad for football IMO, bottlers.

Unfortunately causing ill-will or emotional instability is not much of a legal standing.

According to the EFL law, they should be punished for watching Boro in the window 72 hours prior to the first game. I'm not how you can carry that over to the second leg where Boro would have had the opportunity to do all tactical work on Sunday and Monday.

I find the cheating equally as uncomfortable as you but I don't see why Boro should benefit from the ruling. What is our reward for being spied on? Oxford's?

They should either play the second leg again after ruling the first leg in favour of Boro or Hull should just be promoted.
