Rather have survival than be down with a couple of months of the season left. We need to stay in the league by whatever it takes and establish ourselves which in turn will allow us to bring in better quality players
| You didn’t like how Ghana played last night…? on 07:43 - Jun 24 with 2158 views | Swansea_Blue | Probably better than having to watch how England played. At least Ghana looked to get the ball forward quickly and with intent. Low blocks aren’t exactly inspiring though, granted. | |

There’s an assumption that we need to play like that to survive, but I suspect the reality is we can play like that with a not great squad and still get relegated very easily, whilst also boring everyone senseless. It’s far from ideal to change identity imo (if that’s how we’re going to go).

That's the deepest any country has defended in any of the matches I've watched (I've watched a few but admittedly not all).

I don't think we'll play that as a default, more that there is potentially the option of that or at least similar defensive action in a few games against the big clubs, over 'playing good football' and getting tonked with a pat on the head for good behavior.

What and let us beat them 4 nil? I admire these teams that dig in and find a way to get a result.

And how bad it was that we didn’t lose and let his team send their fans home happy.

In the circumstances I understand why they played that way. In the second half they had moments where they were able to break out and threaten us, and probably should have scored. But I would rather put my face through a window then watch a 38-game season of that.

I like how 'park the bus' is now renamed 'low block'. Mick McCarthy was ahead of his time, but he would still be condemned for it.

Ghana aren't going to win the World Cup. Putting up a good showing is Quieroz's aim & they now have 4pts & will be in the k/o stages. Yes, teams playing like that makes for a hard watch but that's partly a result of having an idiotic 48 team finals where 3rd place teams go through from their group.

| You didn’t like how Ghana played last night…? on 13:19 - Jun 24 with 1256 views | RetroBlue | Why is defending a dirty word? The great teams in the past could all defend very well. If ( Liverpool, Arsenal) scored against you, you knew youd lost the game, becuase they rarely conceded. If Town adopt a " similar" defending ability to Ghana last night, we will stay up ..That has to be the goal fir ys this voming season. We must stay up. Develop going forwards after that. But stay up this season. GON has been brought in with this specific target in mind. | |

Apparently we looked at their right back, Marvin Senaya, last year. He had Gordon in his pocket

Good on them. They were never going to get anything by trying to play football against us. They dug in,got a result. It should be England working out how to beat that, but they were clueless.
