A lot of imagination seems to have gone into that - I did like last seasons home kit but it was basically just a cover version of a late 80s adidas kit. The red one was abysmal. The Orwell outline could work as a home kit but with it in a darker shade of blue.

I was really shocked at last years away kit. It literally looked like an off the shelf template, something I thought we went to Umbro to avoid.

| Quite enjoy seeing AI kit efforts on 18:38 - Jun 24 with 2896 views | Jon_456 | Our orange away kits should always have navy shorts. It’s irrationally bothered me in recent times when we’ve had all orange. In fact, I would say the same for all kits - different colour shorts make them look infinitely better. The 24/25 away kit another example where navy shorts would have been more suitable. | | | |

If we go to Nike I can only imagine it will be template kits and a price hike. Spurs and Chelsea replicas are £90 and Brighton is £70. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I can’t stand Nike kits, Umbro have been the best allround supplier for years.

yes but unfortunately Umbro sold an exclusive sub-licensing deal in the UK and some bits of Europe, with CA Store to manufacture and sell kit with an Umbro logo. and CA Store are very much the worst allround supplier for years, generally in any field theyve stepped into. They expanded massively and quickly and got lots of deals with high profile teams in many forms of sport, alot of whom seem to have quickly moved on from them after experiencing the types of product they got from them. Nike are better than CA Store for sure.

Why is it these concept kits always look great, then we get given pretty boring kits? Last years red away kit being up there with one of the worst. Hoping it’s white with black pin stripes or orange this season.

It must be that the people who design the concept kits have to pander to commercial concerns of their bosses - they can just design shirts that they want and not what they think others want. Or sport manufacturers just employ boring designers.

Good to see some enthusiasm, but is there anyone else like me that has no real interest in kit designs and shirt manufacturers? As long as we wear blue shirts in some form, I'm happy. However, when my son was undergoing trials at the academy in the 90s I bought him a green Ireland shirt. All the other lads were either wearing blue for Ipswich or Red (Arsenal, Liverpool, ManU) So the green stood out.

My main issue with it, is the lack of resistance to three new kits every 9 months. We're meant to have less money than ever, yet there's a huge demand for three new Ipswich kits at full price every 9 months. Not only does it not represent value for money, having shirts that are relevant for less than a year, but the environment is being wrecked by ourselves (and others) producing this sheer level of Vinted fodder. I just can't be excited for something that ends up in the bargain bin for £20 a few months down the line, like this seasons kits were. Also the quality of the designs have been awful for well over a decade now. Just consumption for consumptions sake. I think this seasons three were easily some of the worst we have had, even the third kit had a toy-town badge on it rather than a real one.

Some of the concept kits that have been designed are a work of art, maybe we should just let them do it and then the fanbase can vote. Because most kits these days are pretty magnolia, seeing a decent one these days is generally in the minority.

Thanks. MA would be pround of you for linking it to West Brom. 😀 The general idea was from our kit prior to turning professional in the 30's. Might work better with black shorts though
