Almost got car-doored cycling past Kensington High Street tube station by Matt Lucas getting out of a black cab; was about to unleash a few expletives, but he apologised immediately (I seem to be lucky with the majority of celebs I encounter being very polite )

I also had quite a long conversation with accomplished percussionist and Latin music enthusiast Snowboy (real name Mark Cotgrove) in Fives Records on Leigh Broadway, probably around the same time.

He was driving a car with a shockingly bad mural of a boxer on the bonnet with the words Dancing Destroyer wrote underneath it. I took the p1ss, he took it badly

| Cr@p claim to fame top trumps on 16:16 - Jul 23 with 1036 views | Churchman | I elbowed David Dimbleby on the back of his head once. He was Christmas lunching with the Question Time crew in a restaurant in Earlsfield and so were we. He was at the end of the table giving it billy big buns p£ssed and was leaning back on his chair. I needed to get by for the loo. ‘Excuse me’ said I. He ignored me with that sallow expression, so I pushed by and caught him accidentally (ish) on the back of the nut with my elbow. Ooh, sorry I said and delivered a winning smile. He wasn’t happy. | | | |

I once stopped in the Appalacians at a pub called Cooters that was actually owned by the guy that played Cooter in the Dukes of Hazard. There was a blue grass event going on - and Cooter made a point of announcing to the crowd that I had come over from the UK especially to hear the music. I'd actually pulled over as I needed to visit the bog but didn't have the heart to tell him the truth.

Highlight was picking up Mike Reid and his wife from Orlando airport as he was here to buy a vacation rental home. Anyone that remembers him knows that he was a heavy smoker and after being on the flight from Blighty for 10 hours was desperate for some nicotine. My bus was a designated No Smoking, but he managed to bribe me into allowing him and his wife to puff away till I dropped them at their destination. He tipped me well and signed a postcard.

In it, he did an Eddie Izzard impression involving two dinosaurs which he named after us. He wasn't so well known then but he was a really nice person. [Post edited 23 Jul 18:21]

| Cr@p claim to fame top trumps on 18:25 - Jul 23 with 822 views | Cheltenham_Blue | Back in my bad days, aged 19 or so, I was represented in court by Fred West's solicitor Howard Ogden, after my slap on the wrist he offered me a glass of wine at his flat. He then proceeded to tell me story after story about Fred with additional glasses of wine, before I realised that he might be attempting to groom me, and I made excuses and left. | |

Subject changed onto footy, was a few days after the lambert Steve Evans bust up, asked me what happened then proceeded to launch into Evans, called him a f***ing pr1ck if I remember rightly. We were renovating a Buddhist pergoda and he seemed to have a ritual going there, Oxford beat WHU in the league cup that night. So to test it, I had a little prayer for Skuse to score the following Saturday, didn’t happen!
