| Minimal changes for tomorrow please... 09:41 - Aug 24 with 1531 views | BiGDonnie | I'm hoping GON doesn't change the lineup too much tomorrow. New players getting to know each other and perfect opportunity to get some good rhythm going against weaker opposition. Plus we could do well in this competition, let's not fook it up like KM liked too. [Post edited 24 Aug 9:41]

| Minimal changes for tomorrow please... on 09:43 - Aug 24 with 1203 views | SomethingBlue | There will be some who need wrapping up in cotton wool – I don't really want to see Enciso, Fatawu or Emersonn out there for example, certainly not from the start. Probably not Leif either given the lack of options in his position. You'd expect the front four to be changed and then perhaps two or three of the others to remain. | |

| Minimal changes for tomorrow please... on 09:44 - Aug 24 with 1187 views | Trequartista | I hope he changes all 11. It's the league cup. I don't know when else the likes of Walton. Furlong, Egeli are going to get a game otherwise. We're playing a League One side at home. I do think we should field stronger teams than we have done recently in the FA Cup though, which are weekend, not midweek games | |

That's the exact team i would field with Mehmeti coming on at half time [Post edited 24 Aug 9:51]

Yeah. Totally. I am sure that GON would also want to see the rest of the squad play a real game so he can size them up and get some of the training ground ideas into game situations with everybody.

Never works for us and I really don't wanna be losing to Russell Martin.

| Minimal changes for tomorrow please... on 09:59 - Aug 24 with 995 views | LandOfMickyStockwell | I think back to Bromley last season (but try to forget the result). Our squad is more complete than then. Changes should be made to maintain strength across the whole team and a route back if Luis if near fitness. Potentially a last run out for players destined for late loan exits. | | | |

That's never worked in the past. 4 maybe 5 changes absolute max. Let's try and win the game and build some more chemistry into the new boys.

| Minimal changes for tomorrow please... on 09:59 - Aug 24 with 987 views | LeoMuff | They created this team at huge cost for one goal, stay in the premier. Tonight’s team will be picked with that purely in mind so could be 11 new faces or the same 11. I would be very surprised if out key guys play, Saturday was full on and we will need all hands ready for Utd who will be well up for it after last week. I can’t see any of our key foward players or midfielders starting, feels very risky | |

Nunez is another one who needs wrapping in cotton wool, so I wouldn’t play him unless they’re confident on Luis being fit for United [Post edited 24 Aug 12:12]

The squad is stronger than its ever been, we need Egelli, Oauttara, etc with match minutes in their legs ready for when they are needed in the league.

And it's at home, which makes it a little bit more important. Walton Furlong Kipre Greaves Davis Nunez Humphreys McAteer Egeli Maeda Akpom

In a season like this, the only use the league cup is, is that it allows our fringe players to keep match fit. We’re not winning the thing and we shouldn’t be aiming to unless we somehow make it to the QF/SF with our second XI. Survival is the only goal and risking injury to one of our key players in a pointless cup game would be crazy. If we’re still in the PL in 2-3 years time then that would be the time to try and have a go at it. [Post edited 24 Aug 10:36]

What's the best way to do that, give 4/5 of the fringe players a game in 4/5 games. Or give 11 fringe players one game that we lose?

| Minimal changes for tomorrow please... on 10:37 - Aug 24 with 684 views | Bellevue_Blue | It's going to be a lot of changes and rightly so IMO .. - GON is having to keep a squad of close to 30 players happy, you have to give other players an opportunity to impress and that will benefit overall morale much more - In the grand scheme of things, the game just does not matter. United is infinitely more important. If anyone of any significance got injured tonight that would be criminal. - I suspect Dara will play at RCB and then we will have changes at every position. Point of discussion is LB though ... Outarra? I had him pencilled in to start at RWB this Sunday? The U21s are playing tonight as well so unlikely to be many to choose from. | | | |
| Minimal changes for tomorrow please... on 10:38 - Aug 24 with 680 views | Mookamoo | I want to see Ouattara. I want to see Humpreys. I want to see Egeli at 10. Akpom, Kipre and McAteer need to show that they can challenge for minutes. | | | |
| Minimal changes for tomorrow please... on 10:39 - Aug 24 with 661 views | jas0999 | If we are going to survive this season, our form at PR will be the key. Tomorrow is a game I’d like to see us win … home game. League one opposition. Just helps with confidence. However, there are some players who will need to be managed. | | | |
| Minimal changes for tomorrow please... on 10:45 - Aug 24 with 609 views | andyblue231 | Strong team please. I want to win the cup this year. | | | |
| Minimal changes for tomorrow please... on 10:45 - Aug 24 with 609 views | _CliveBaker_ | Keep the forward players fresh for OT. The way we'll get a result there is to out work them and have the legs and pace on the counter, they look vulnerable to it. Wrap Fatawu, Enciso and Maeda up in cotton wool tomorrow. Good to get minutes into McAteer, Clarke & Egeli too. GO'N has a history of a lot of rotation in this competition, I think we'll do the same tomorrow and I'm supportive. I'm all for cup runs, I'd love us to actually have a serious one and finally get to Wembley, but this season these games have to be in service of the 38 league matches, not compromise them. We should be strong enough to win still. I think its a good time to play United, they'll react 1 of 2 ways to Hull and if its not positively we might be able to kick them while they're down. I'd have Mehmeti on from the start. He looked good in preseason. | | | |
| Minimal changes for tomorrow please... on 10:58 - Aug 24 with 523 views | ThatMuhrenCross | I agree with you, but O'Neil has already stated there will be changes. I think some of the more senior players definitely will be rested, especially those who have played the whole of pre-season. Would expect a few of the more recent arrivals to get a start to get minutes under their belt. Something like this: Walton Furlong - O'Shea - Kipre - Ouattara Florentino - Humphreys Fatawu - Enciso - Clarke Akpom If we can get ourselves a lead by half time, I'd suspect Enciso and Fatawu to go straight off. | |
