Gosh, this is a tedious debate. The guy has tried to stay apolitical and the media, both professional and social, have tried to railroad him into an opinion. Yeah, he's bloody rich, but he's just a bloke, trying to play music and do what he enjoys, in front of people who like his art. Why does it have to be so complicated? Why does he have to pick a side? Maybe he doesn't even have a side, because maybe, just maybe he sees everyone as a human being, and just cares that human lives are being lost on both sides.

Sultana is dreadful, just embodies all the most cliched stereotypes of that type of politics, and I think she has got worse over time too.
Edit: just to add a bit of context to this. I find the likes of Sultana infuriating as, at heart my politics are left leaning, with a preference for a more equal society, but it seems that its hard to get that in a politician without the nonsense that comes with people like Sultana, or the cult of Corbyn. I actually think him waiting a few days before responding was extremely wise. Why should he be forced into a knee-jerk decision on what is clearly a very complex situation?

I get what you're arguing but I think you do him a disservice. He's being robbed of a lot agency and responsibilty in your take.
I get he can't win, but by leaving it so long and hoping it'd blow over and move on to other people he's vindicating those who are being very ciritical of him - if he wasn't connected to our club TWTD would probably far more critical in places. | |

As a counterpoint to this, just seen a Calvin Robinson facebook post shared on bluesky which basically blames the Jews for every bad thing that has ever happened. Genuinely disgusting, and facebook has deemed it an acceptable post. I would share it here, but the bluesky account has blocked sharing, and no way that I'm looking it up on facebook as I'll then get spammed with loads of that sort of content in my timeline.
