My most shocking omissions - Stephen Poliakoff's dramas shown on BBC - Shooting the Past and Dancing on the Edge. Brilliant, wonderful, can't speak highly enough of them - they might still be on iPlayer but I think may be available as box sets with other works by him.

I'm going to have to redraw my list if sticking to 6 as others have!

Doesn't look like either of the Poliakoff dramas you mention are still on the iPlayer, or 'Joe's Palace'.

The Civil War - fantastic documentary! Good shout.

Another one is the mini series Shackleton starring Kenneth Branagh. About the 1914 trans Antarctic Expedition it’s an astonishing story of leadership, survival, skill, horror, desperation you name it from types of people that just don’t exist anymore. The mini series is quite close to the true events too.

So, so many already mentioned that I would find it impossible to pick just six.
Father Ted is probably top by a smidgen closely followed by Band of Brothers and Pacific.

Just started watching the Reginald Perrin comedy again after donkeys years. Another classic comedy series that’s still really funny.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.
