Tbf him slowing play down wont really matter today as i dont think we will get many counters. His close ball work however maybe better suited than clarke who is again more direct in his play.

| TEAM on 13:50 - Oct 31 with 1805 views | BlueBadger | Bit surprised not to see Maeda start. His hard work and pressing seem ideally suited to a tough in-your-face away game to me. [Post edited 31 Oct 13:56]

Hope you’re right. But I think Clarke would have been better. Committing people and opening space up.

Agreed. Maeda’s experience is a plus too; he’s a safer bet. But I suppose Philogene isn’t going to play his way fit by sitting on his arse, so I sort of understand. Let’s hope he has a blinder.

Both Clarke and Maeda are doing well - there is no need to mess about letting anybody play themselves into form or fitness. It’s the PL not the pizza cup. Really disappointing decision from GON but suppose he seems them in training and knows best (hopefully).

Maybe a matter of timing - better later v. tired tiger legs?

clarke always offers loads more from the bench, would love to see jaden scoring against his old team (though i'd have gone with maeda!)

Or...could it be....that you haven't got a clue what you are talking about and GON, McKenna etc no a lot more than you? Could that be it?

That's Hull's entire game and they are very good at counter attacking and have done a number on lots of orem teams with it this season. That's the main thing we have to be careful about. No idea why Philogene would be singled out for slowing it down Agree on your second point. I think we will see Philogene start most games we expect to have more ball and Maeda will play against the top sides (and certain away games) and when we want to be more counter punch.

What I would say Nutkins ripping it up in training don't get you any points players need and have to perform on match days and this season and I say up till now Philogene hasn't performed particularly well.

Can you blame them? I'm not saying he deserves pelters, and actually he's not been that bad (he's just not really offering any end product) but you can't score the odd screamer and use that as an excuse for being poor the rest of the time. His first 20 minutes against Forest was bizarre. At one point there was a pass from Davis in our own defensive third that wasn't spot on, he saw it was a yard or two wayward and just left it to run out for a throw, he could have got there relatively easily with a bit of effort. Maybe that's just being a bit dozy and not necessarily laziness, but it's that sort of thing that doesn't endear him to people.
