Something so dark about late stage capitalism continuing to plough on whilst everything burns. And I wouldn't mind so much if they were just normal ads, but nowadays it's so transparently emotionally manipulative. Why have we allowed ourselves to become a country that talks about the John Lewis ad as if it's a cultural event?!
I'm fairly sure I've seen Christmas stuff in Aldi in August.
yeah I've seen Xmas turkey and mince pies in supermarkets in August. It's bad enough non-food stuff, but food items?! Who the feck is eating Xmas food this early?!

I don't think I've ever bought something because of an advert. Maybe it's all subliminal. There used to be adverts for electricity - I can't remember seeing one and thinking ' I'll stick another bar on'.
Yes, it's that time of year when the big, massive, giant Christmas Monster pukes his guts all over the land as people decide to make both the inside & particularly the outside of their houses look dreadful

Well if you don't know what the traditional Christmas foods are you're probably beyond help, but the ones I was referring to (such as the turkey) were emblazoned with Christmas stars, baubles, tinsel, snow etc.
There's no such thing these days. When I grew up you only ever saw Turkey at Christmas. But now it's part of the staple diet. Turkey, Brie and Cranberry Panini etc have been a thing 365 days a year for thirty odd years. Likewise, Turkey is usually one of the three meats at a Carvery (not that I partake these days). Likewise Pigs in Blankets. I eat sprouts and parsnips most all year around.
All I can think of nis Mince Pies, Christmas Pudding, Egg Nog and Mulled Wine. Two of which are drinks rather than food. The other two are deserts/cakes.
So definitely no such thing as Chrsitmas food.
Antisemites, Jew haters and crashing bores will be put on ignore.

Once again, folks, this is why you shouldn't comment on stuff when you can't read what the original commentor actually said so just make up what they said instead.
