Cole Skuse is hugely underrated and unfairly criticised by many. It's no coincidence that (particularly in the Championship) past downturns in form have often coincided with his absence from the team.
Clearly his fellow pros feel the same way about him, given how many of those who have played alongside him have included them in their 'Best XIs'.
1) Great prospect, but in the last few weeks (maybe longer) he’s been carried by Chambers. I’d almost be tempted to start Kenlock again also as he can defend at LB
I go the opposite way on Clapham. Watched through 1999/2000 again a couple of weeks ago and was struck by just how reliable and accurate his final ball was. Set up tonnes of goals; always liked him but not sure I appreciated how much he contributed in terms of chance creation.

David Johnson the Second was better than Marcus Stewart
As a minimum I think there needs to be more appreciation of just how huge he was for us. Signing him changed everything when we were at an appallingly low ebb. He was consistently brilliant for three years; barely let up.
Harsh on Clapham. Solid reliable player and the perfect example of the sort of player that we used to scout/sign. Floundering in Spurs reserves, signed for 300k, becomes integral to success.
I will forever piss blood over the fact we spunked over 3 MILLION on Priskin and Lee fooking Martin.

Carlos Edwards was a 'good servant' but a rubbish player for us.
Indeed. Was brought in by Keane to play on the right wing, but didn't seem to have the confidence or pace to beat his man. So he was converted by Jewell to a poor right back. No-nonsense Mick quickly saw the folly in that, so he went back to being an ineffective right winger.

I mean, if you're not getting down arrows on this thread then you're not doing it right :)
Agree on Lee Martin, nowt controversial about that opinion, he was absolutely dire.

That's very true, almost from day 1. £800k was it, from Bury? A decent chunk at the time but there's a strong argument to be made that he propelled us sufficiently up the table that justified the roll of the dice on Stewart to get us over the line. Certainly without Johnson's ground work we wouldn't have been in that position. The irony is that it, and Stewarts form, did him out of a place in the side. It was great going to watch us just knowing Johnson had a goal in him. Really brings back some fond memories watching clips of him in the late 90's.
