Parking Ticket Issue 09:22 - Sep 4 with 3155 views | hype313 | I got a Penalty notice from NCP (Tacket Street) to say thier APNR cameras caught my car without paying, however, I did buy a ticket (with cash) and you can see the ticket in the window of my car in their picture, but I binned the ticket a week later. Am I fighting a losing battle against them as I have no proof, bar a picture in the window of my car, which isn't clear enough to show validation. Anyone else had similar issues?

Parking Ticket Issue on 10:04 - Sep 4 with 2649 views | Pendejo | Doesn't that parking machine ask you to record your registration? Otherwise how would they know whether or not you bought a ticket via ANPR? I have won a ticket issued in this car park before, but different circumstances.

Nope, it was cash only | |

Parking Ticket Issue on 10:07 - Sep 4 with 2644 views | Kieran_Knows | I've had a similar issue at Cardinal Park which I'm disputing. Went out one evening and parked there, paid the £1 (after 6pm) fee. I hadn't noticed until I found my ticket, but it only picked up the first 2 letters of my registration on the machine (I promise I punched in my whole registration), so the machine was either faulty, or just didn't print correctly and I have been hit with £100 fine (reduced to £60). As I say, I've disputed it as I have proof that the money left my bank, plus I still have the ticket which I displayed in my window so now waiting on a response.

Parking Ticket Issue on 10:34 - Sep 4 with 2577 views | uefacup81 | Definitely worth pursuing. Go down the 'official' appeal route and see what happens. If you fail, put them on notice that you dispute their version of events and are prepared to challenge them at court should they wish to chance their arm. If you think you are in the right, definitely don't be intimidated into paying up, as no doubt they'll send you all sorts of threatening letters rather than try and defend their claim. I had similar with a local firm a couple of years back and they eventually got bored and dropped the case. I say tell them that you don't intend to pay without first losing at court, as that should then make any debt collection fees they incur unrecoverable at court (should they choose to go that far) given that you've already set your stall out.

Parking ticket machines that receive cash, often also ask for a registration. Where enforced by CCTV they usually ask for full registration, otherwise couldn't be enforced. If charges are going to be manually policed they usually just ask for the numbers on the plate. Personally I always appeal parking tickets as there's never anything to lose.

Cheers, yep you're right, if they operate APNR then surely the machine must ask for reg which it didn't. I'm fighting it, it's outrageous that I paid cash and they still try and shaft you.

Parking Ticket Issue on 10:56 - Sep 4 with 2521 views | monytowbray | I was 20 mins late back to my car in same car park. 2 and a half years later it went to court and I got a CCJ. Still not legally enforceable so over a year later it’s still not paid. No baliffs yet but if they do show up I’ll just ignore them. It’s a civil dispute, ignore it. BW Legal, the fake law firm that buys these debts, last sent me a letter 6 months ago saying they’d half the charge. Evidently COVID hurting them. Again I ignored them. They can have nothing and f*cking like it.

This is why I routinely keep tickets for at least 2 months, and why I hate "pay & display" and prefer the ones where you pay on exit for time used.... Even though that is also often a con. Fight them!

Parking Ticket Issue on 11:42 - Sep 4 with 2429 views | LeBlue | Appeal it. I had one where I paid for a ticket and displayed it in my window. Registration was required when buying the ticket. Got the fine through a couple of weeks later, had paid cash and no longer had the ticket. I can only assume that I put the wrong registration in (as I was using my wife's car that day and probably was on auto-pilot) so I appealed on that basis. Anyway, they accepted my appeal as a 'gesture of goodwill'.

If it comes down to it, you could warn them you have maybe up to some 500 friends from an internet forum who are willing to up pitchforks and head down their way. Wherever that is.

Who did you suck off to get that?! I had one in my own space at my old flat (went to court and won) and all I got was "BUT THE SIGN IN YOUR CAR PARK SAYS". In the new version of capitalism I'll have landlord, hedge fund manager and PCN firm MD jobs thrown in the bin. Something for nothing leeches.

Parking Ticket Issue on 12:04 - Sep 4 with 2374 views | clive_baker | Always worth an appeal to them to see what they say. If rejected you could appeal through Popla. What I definitely wouldn't do is ignore it. I was sent a fine from the car park next to the Uni in Ipswich, by the water. The 'evidence' was 2 black squares supposedly showing my car going in and out. All you could see was headlights, no reg at all. I appealed and they rejected. I escalated through Popla and won, which was easy to do, all online, and free. It became a matter of principle as I'm adamant that wasn't me using the facility.

I got my Mum of one there - was late at nioght, machine wasn't working and you had to download app etc. She sent them an email when she parked saying she can't do the app, please phone her to arrange payment. When i sent that across they turned it over - but it's not a great policy for people to have to download an app in the middle of a pitch black car park, especially for 2 60 year old women as Mum was with a friend - leaves them a bit vulnerable

Admire your determination and resilience. But a CCJ is a pain in the arse if you are ever wanting a mortgage and/or a loan.

Especially when your bang to rights. I would have paid it, as it's clear it was his fault.

No one is “bang to rights” to extort anyone, regardless of what society and the free market of disaster capitalism has convinced us.

I'd love to know why you believe this to be legally unenforceable. A CCJ is enforceable, however it was arrived at. The fact it has yet to be enforced is neither here nor there.
