How do you start your day in these crazy Covid times (particularly those WFH)? 11:08 - Sep 30 with 9222 views | BrixtonBlue | Today I went for my normal run round the park (which is 5 mins walk away), but took a different route and stopped to walk through a bit of woodland. It's lovely walking through the woods early, when there's few people about, just birds tweeting and squirrels running around, plus you get to breathe in the lovely and beneficial phytoncides from the trees and plants, AKA the ancient Japanese art of tree bathing. After another bit of a run and stopping by the supermarket for a loaf of rye and mixed seed sourdough bread, some fresh orange juice and some oat milk, I got home and had a shower before my morning slice of lemon squeezed into a cup of boiling water, followed by a bowl of Shreddies with the oat milk, while listening to a bit of smooth lounge jazzzzz. Then I'm refreshed and ready to start my day. I'd definitely recommend getting out and travelling as if you're going to work, and even better if you can do it via a bit of nature.

How do you start your day in these crazy Covid times (particularly those WFH)? on 11:31 - Sep 30 with 4113 views | SaleAway | I used to just roll out of bed straight to the computer - getting work done as early as possible and trying to stretch my evenings out ( I run after work, to flush the irritations of the day out). Have now started doing a short (20-30 minutes) yoga session every morning. As I get older, I'm more and more aware of my lack of flexibility, so making a conscious effort to do something about it. Yoga for me is more about connecting with my body, than the mindfulness stuff that a lot of people get from it. I find I'm pretty solid on that front anyway, so its definitely more physical than cerebral.

How do you start your day in these crazy Covid times (particularly those WFH)? on 11:44 - Sep 30 with 4088 views | Steve_M | I've managed to get out and walk for an hour before work most days throughout the Summer, went up to Hampstead Heath this morning and the light was beautiful as the sun broke through the clouds. It definitely helps start the day nicely in the absence of my usual (?) walk to the office. Going to get a bit harder if it's wet and dark though, will have to try and fit an hour in for lunch instead.

I probably get out for a morning walk 2 days a week, though always intend to do more. I increasingly find it really bloody difficult to get out of bed in the morning though! Like you I miss my walk into work every day, was a useful way of getting my brain set for the day. I try and get out a couple of lunch times a week too, either for a walk or a bike ride, but a combination of being way too busy, plus dismal weather, has stopped that routine for the last few weeks. It is really important to get out of the house and clear the head as much as possible though.

Errr....a what point in that sequence do you leave the beach? I would assume it's immediately before the line 'then I'm ready for work'.

How do you start your day in these crazy Covid times (particularly those WFH)? on 15:42 - Sep 30 with 3762 views | Ace_High1 | Sounds good but not sure how people have the time unless you work rigidly 9-5. I find the time between 7am and 8:30 are a nice window when I can get some work done before the phone/emails and meetings begin. I have found that when working from home I start earlier but then at least I can then finish by around 6/6:30 and that way have a couple of hours leisure in the evening. Issue with that this time of the year is by that time I don't want to go out as its wet, dark and cold!
