Team for tomorrow's game.... 09:21 - Nov 9 with 8834 views | itfcjoe | ....having gone to extra time it is going to be one of the youngest ITFC XIs ever, from what I understand it will include players that I've barely even heard of or seen with one potential surprise in there! I'm looking forward to seeing what it is come 6pm tomorrow

I'm hoping for Clive Woods. How good would that be? Pushing on to finally get his deserved England debut at the end of the season.

Team for tomorrow's game.... on 09:31 - Nov 9 with 3026 views | Wallingford_Boy | With the mood being a bit glum around Portman Road at the moment, due to the recent dip in form, be nice to have something to cheer about and actually progress in a cup competition, especially with time off coming up, so hopefully some of the first teamers will come back in. I'd go - Cornell Donacien Wilson Ndaba Kenlock Bishop McGavin Dozzell Bennetts Jackson Dobra Plus give Norwood a bit more time from the bench. He won't though, as you say he'll just play a load of kids, we'll lose, but scrape through anyway.

Won’t be Armando, he’s on international duty

I don't think there will be any 1st teamers, except possibly Cornell and maybe Wilson. There is an U23s game also - so it might be all throungsters play for 23s and then 23s step up, not sure though

Team for tomorrow's game.... on 09:48 - Nov 9 with 2916 views | clive_baker | Can't say I'm too bothered tbh, good opportunity to give minutes to the likes of Simpson & Ndaba etc. I would probably use the opportunity to give Cornell & Bennetts more minutes. It would've been nice to win on Saturday and maybe have a bit of an FA Cup run, but again I'm not too bothered given the mad schedule of fixtures we're going to face. It's not like we were going to win it, and avoiding injuries to some of our key players was probably prudent. We've got 1 priority this season and we need to be single minded about it. We've got 3 big home games within a week starting with Shrewsbury and frankly I want to see 7 points minimum to show we're serious.

Cornell Crowe - Wilson - Ndaba - Smith Gibbs - McGavin - Virrall Brown - Simpson - Crane Chirewa the ‘surprise’.

HaHa we have an U23 game too, great planning! Surely with no game this weekend, it would make sense to play a couple? Dozzell's last chance for game time for a while, Jackson wasn't used at the weekend and needs minutes, bit more game time for Bennetts, another 30 mins in Norwood's legs? I know its only the EFL trophy, but losing this one and having another defeat before the international break will not help the feel around the club.

Think McGavin will still be in recovery mode after the shift he put in on Saturday (as will Donacien judging by his comments in the lead story on the home page). Is Adam Przybek on international duty with the Wales U23s at the moment? [edit] scrub that last question, he's on loan at Braintree. [Post edited 9 Nov 2020 9:59]

I think he is back from Braintree as it is, but is away with Wales

Me too, I wouldn't risk any first teamers at all for this competition - if Norwood hadn't played on Saturday then I would have given him some minutes but can't think of anyone else in that situation.

Huws or Judge as captain - just for the meltdown in the chat room.

The team have to eat one of their pizzas each if we lose? {Actually, although I have never eaten one, I have softened towards Papa Johns since I saw them advertising in and donating to The Big Issue at Christmas}

That surely would be a sensible approach. There's players coming back from injury or haven't really played that need game time, so play them. I can understand playing some of the youngsters especially from what I saw on show against Southend in the FA Youth Cup too, but not a whole side. However, it would be a nice fillip to get a win and progress in any cup competition. This negativity that surrounds this tournament, the League and FA Cup isn't a great mindset to have and putting all our faith that no distractions will help with a promotion push makes me really sceptical especially if it starts unravelling.

If Baggott is fit he’ll probably play instead of Wilson; if not it will be Andoh. Healy will probably start in the place of McGavin and Dobra for Crane? I’m in two minds about the FA Cup line up - I probably still believe we should have played our first XI but then we wouldn’t have seen what McGavin can do in a working system. Mind you, even with the first XI he would have probably been on the bench and, considering Huws was again non-existent, he may have got a chance there so I’m going to stick with my original wish: v Portsmouth - Holy, Chambers, Ward, Wilson, McGuinness, Huws, Nolan, Bishop, Lankester, Edwards, Jackson v Crawley - Cornell, Donacien, Kenlock, Nsiala, Ndaba, McGavin, Dozzell, Judge, Bennetts, Dobra, Norwood

The founder of Papa John’s (John Schnatter) is a monumental douche, however he no longer has anything to do with the company after he was forced out a couple of years ago That’s a good thing as their pizzas are actually quite decent when in a hungover/lazy craving dirty carbs type mood, they certainly sh*t all over Dominos IMO!

Had to rest players vs Pompey — we have 35-year-old full-backs, one of whom probably came back more quickly from injury than was ideal, and a pair of midfielders who for one reason or another have never played senior football at this intensity. Quibbles about who one might have fielded instead aside, it was the right thing to do.

They’re having a two week break now? If that had been a league game they would have played and it’s not as though paying disrespect to the cups has helped our league form at all in the last few years.
