It’s time to change the narrative 05:08 - Jan 31 with 2133 views | bluepigeon | The half way point of the season and yes it’s not ideal where we are but it’s only 4 points off the playoffs It will only take 2/3 wins on the bounce and we are right back in the mix, plenty of football still to play for at this stage. With keys players coming back from injury and other squads smaller than ours coming under strain with injuries , there is still plenty of reasons to be cheerful . So lets all move from a glass half empty to a glass half full mentality and get behind the boys. I for one still remain optimistic for a positive end to the season. COYB

Only two months ago Lambert spat his dummy out for the negativity when we were still in the play-offs but again had fallen short to ‘play off’ rivals in Charlton and Hull. Inc that barn stormer 0-0 with Oxford, we’ve play 9, scored 8, drawn a blank in 4, kept just 2 clean sheets, won 3, lost 4, drawn 2. We now sit 11th. I said yesterday. Forget play offs, we need to look over our shoulders if we continue to create so little chances.

It’s time to change the narrative on 07:34 - Jan 31 with 1967 views | Harry_Palmer | I seem to remember the 'bigger squad than our rivals' straw being clutched at last season as well. Unfortunately the fact that our rivals all have a better manager than us will be the more decisive factor again this season, just as it was last. [Post edited 31 Jan 2021 12:11]

It’s time to change the narrative on 07:41 - Jan 31 with 1955 views | CornishMariner | I admire your optimism and I am very much a person who thinks it is always possible to turns things round but we had the same situation last year with the same narrative from the manager. There was a mini-revival against the lesser teams but as soon as we came up against the better ones it was all so predictable. I saw this with my own eyes at all the home games. The fact that this season is almost identical is a sign that the problem lies at the top. Where I am "glass full" is that with a new management team in place, I do think we can go on a run as you say. The players are mostly fit and will benefit from having a manager that communicates properly, sets teams up properly and has the willingness to adapt the system if needed. I think the change around would be quite quick too.

Just think how we’ll be next season when the same management team have to build a squad with about half the available wages in place - bearing in mind what they can get out of this, just think how little they’ll get out of even less

Will there be anyone left to support the club come the summer when he ‘rebuilds’ us... [Post edited 31 Jan 2021 7:51]

It’s time to change the narrative on 08:07 - Jan 31 with 1849 views | Bluefish | How is there hope? This isn't a blip or a downturn, this has been consistent failure under Lambert for 3 seasons. He sets up in a way that will fail and refuses to acknowledge it or change. The biggest issue is people consistently making excuses for him, very few clubs would have kept him on after the 1st season of spectacular failure but we made him out to be the best thing ever and forced the narrative of a free hit. It wasn't a free hit at all, it could have been turned around. When it became a free hit it should have been used as one as we should have been building, we still went into games using random loanees without any structure or plan. The 2nd season still saw us without structure or a plan, again so many fans tried to make out all was rosy and shouted down those pointing out the failings. We were top of the league but never looked convincing and struggled against the bigger teams. The team lacked an identity and the manager wasn't imposing any style or tactics. The positivity stayed until in was too late and we spectacularly failed again. This season has been consistent at least but it is loyal to horrendous football that has meaningless possession and no attacking threat. Again the positivity has largely remained and vocally shouted down those pointing out the obvious issues in the performances and the way it wouldn't work against better sides. Yet again it has caught up on us. There are no green shoots, there are 3 seasons of failure beyond comprehension. The fans absolutely should be calling it out, the glass half full approach was admirable but disastrous and has fed the failure

But do not worry too much Fishers - - Big Jimmy Walker has told us we might as well wrap it up if we don’t finish top 4 - Lambert cannot understand any negativity towards the impeccable job he doing - Our kit man has encouraged us to ‘just be positive’ - Our sports scientist is 400 miles away after nearly killing Stuart Taylor - The club has promised they intend to turn frustrations to celebrations Everything is going in the right direction - I think that’s what is referred to as, green shoots.

It’s time to change the narrative on 10:06 - Jan 31 with 1589 views | ketton_itfc | I admire your spirit. And of course you are right, there is lots of football left and the situation is retrievable, just. However, what gives you any encouragement that Lambert can turn this round? When faced with similar situations with us, he has consistently failed. His record against top 10 sides is abysmal. What exactly has he done with team tactically to suggest things will suddenly turn? His performance on the pitch as manager since he’s been here has been woeful and mediocre at best. He’s done here and the longer we continue with this complete farce the more damage that is being done. There is no other way to dress this up.

Being stuck indoors, children at home full time, loss of employment it’s hard enough, illness to loved ones, for folks at the moment at least try and look optimistically at what the future holds for all of us otherwise it’s just looks gloomy
