Seriously if our Wembley v Barnsley team 18:16 - Mar 20 with 2096 viewssaffers12

Played this current team, what score would it be...

5 0 I would suggest ...chalk and cheese

Makes me appreciate that squad even more

Oh for a Jamma or Mogga now

5-0 is being generous to the current team.

They’d get more than 5 I think. If they carried on at full pelt for 90. Would probably be so far up at half time they could take their foot off the gas a bit.

to be fair that team would make mincemeat of any team we've had since royle left (and i include mcarthy's playoff team in that, lightyears ahead)

They’d beat any team. McCarthy’s play off team would have put up a fight though. Would have gone down one or two nil. Bad, bad things would happen to this lot.

The Wembley team was excellent and frankly it’s disrespectful to them to even be expected to be on the same pitch as this current lot.

The question is whether there is a team in the club’s professional history worse than this one. Regardless, has the club ever been in a worse mess?

The Scott Duncan team relegated after its first visit to the old second division and before Ramsey arrived in the mid 1950s maybe?

A team on its way to finishing 5th in the Premier League would demolish our current team struggling to make the play offs in League 1. I don't quite get what the surprise is there.

The issue is that our current squad built over several transfer windows with Lambert is far from good enough. I am still hopeful that Cook can get it into the play offs but he needs to build a squad to compete in the Championship. The first step to that will be trimming this bloated squad.

Even if we had a squad capable of getting into the top half of the Championship, it should lose comfortably to that team of 2000. No surprises there.

This bunch of losers, no hopes, and waste of spaces don’t even deserve to call themselves Ipswich players, to be named alongside greats in that team

Earlier in the Play-off final season, we put 6 past our Play-off final opponents. If we could put 6 past Barnsley on a good day, then it goes without saying that we would be north of that verses a technically limited tier 2 side with players that go missing when the going gets tough.

I didn't say "times".... But we scored six times in our home game against Barnsley that season. 6-1 to be exact.

That Scott Duncan team was stepping up in class though. This squad had a number of players with higher level experience or had played well in the third tier before.

For my money, the only pre-Evans era Town sides that I could see this current squad potentially getting a result off would be:
- Late era McGiven
-The 94/95 team
-2005/06 team (prior to Alan Lee’s arrival)
