Can't beat a bit of the old mass murder for Xmas.

It should be the underlying plot for every Xmas film.

Maybe, one of my Christmas favourites is 'Lawrence of Arabia' but I do accept that tribal conflicts in the Middle East do not have any connection to the birth of Jesus...

There's no murder, mass or otherwise, in the best Christmas film.

Which, as everyone knows, is Muppets Christmas Carol.

Why do you say that?

I watched it the other week and it was prefaced with one of those warnings about it being from a different era. I'm guessing because of the racism and maybe the use of Jamie Lee Curtis and her perfect body... Err I digress.

For me the use of racist language exemplified how horrible the characters were, including the Ackroyd character pre-redemption.from

It the use of black face as a disguise?

In Silverstreak black face was used to great comic effect without being racist. In fact in that it was used as contemporary satire on race relations in the USA, how things change eh?

Gratuitous use of JLC

You’re right. It really hasn’t.

Watched it with my teenage daughters and it was a little embarrassing how poor certain parts are. On the other hand, Planes, Trains and Automobiles is now one of their favourite films. If it was Christmas instead of Thanksgiving it would be perfect.
