POTY 12:36 - Jan 4 with 2942 views | BlueNomad | at this halfway point in the season? The Fridge or Burns for me.
POTY on 12:58 - Jan 4 with 2872 views | Steve_M | Edmundson, after a slow start, is my shout at this point I think. Burns and Bonne not far behind. Plenty of time for others to step up, Morsy playing like he did last Wednesday consistently would give him a shout too.

POTY on 13:04 - Jan 4 with 2844 views | MattinLondon | The Fridge has put put in some rather cold performances this season whereas Burns has played some games like he’s on fire - but sometimes he plays like he’s lacking oxygen and simply puffs away. Too early to say. [Post edited 4 Jan 2022 13:05]

Agreed. Edmundson looks like he could quite easily play Champiosnhip football.
POTY on 13:40 - Jan 4 with 2740 views | Strimmer | Edmundson, though if burns had been fit throughout I reckon he’d be running him close. Bonne still has plenty of time to regain form and win it by default based on a 20+ goal season

POTY on 13:44 - Jan 4 with 2720 views | abracaDOBRA_ | I'll go with Edmundson, Burns could have snatched it if he hadn't been injured for a month or so. If Bonne ends up scoring for fun again I reckon he'll get it at the end of the season if we finish on a high

POTY on 14:14 - Jan 4 with 2629 views | ArnieM | I’d go for Walton, because he’s brought stability to the defence .

POTY on 14:15 - Jan 4 with 2625 views | BseaBlue | I'd say Donacien. He has been the most consistent in a team riddled with inconsistencies.
POTY on 14:21 - Jan 4 with 2602 views | CrockerITFC | For me, it's the forgotten man, Janoi Donacien. Looked like his career at Town was a complete non-starter, was given an opportunity in the first team only because of a dire injury situation with KVY and no other available backup options. Since coming into the team he's made the position his own by barely putting a foot wrong/ being our most consistent defender throughout, creating a solid partnership with Burns, and getting several assists to boot. I know he probably won't win as he's not one of the big names but he really deserves a lot of credit for knuckling down, taking his chance, and getting the job done. Very dependable, exactly what you want in a defender and a fantastic character too - POTY
POTY on 14:22 - Jan 4 with 2588 views | Garv | Based on the impact he has when he plays, and that we've conceded so many goals, though it's not all GE's fault, it's Burns for me.

POTY on 14:26 - Jan 4 with 2568 views | hype313 | JD for me, been absolutely solid as a rock, not put a foot wrong. The Fridge a close second and might take the mantle at the end of the season. Burns has been excellent, but there are games where he is very quiet, Wycombe the other night he was anonymous, but when he's on his game he is unstoppable.

Agree with the overall idea although I think Edmundson edges it so far. If they carry on like this, the only possible challengers to those two over the second half of the season seem to be Burns, Aluko, Bonne (though will need a resurgence in front of goal) and Walton.

It makes a welcome change to have that many deserving names to choose from so far. The past few seasons there genuinely were no contenders and it was a case of who was least sh!te.

Given that we're lower in the league that probably says more about fans than it does the players.

POTY on 16:14 - Jan 4 with 2340 views | TractorFrog | I think George Edmundson, with Macauley Bonne a close second. Honourable mentions to Wes Burns, Janoi Donacien, Christian Walton and Sam Morsy.
| They'd all laugh at me if they knew what I was trying to do. To create a new strain of super-wine in half-an-hour with a fraction of nature's resources and a FOOL for an assistant. I don’t understand the logic on that one. We’ve had much better individual performances than we ever did last year. League position is a result of a team performance not an individuals. I think the fact James Wilson won it last year and there was barely anyone worthy of a mention as a runner up says it all. | |
