Although to be fair, Woolfie has looked great in a three. And he’s got Donacien and Edmundson mopping up a lot of the threat too. It’s a really effective unit. It’s also a system that highlights his strengths rather than his weaknesses. Would I have chosen him in a CB pair in the autumn? Probably not. But hopefully that’s now a possibility with his growing confidence.

Woolfie dig at Cook? on 21:31 - Feb 20 with 3693 views | ArnieM | I understand LW need to take a swipe at the previous manager. But let’s not forget he was often a car crash 8n defence too, gifting soft goals to opponents when we often had the upper hand. He was a mistake waiting to happen in a lot of games. He has improved in recent months under the new regime… but maybe he’s just finally starting to take his job / career / himself more seriously? I recall his interview where he was talking about himself, Downes and Dozzell emergence into the senior squad . He was almost proud of his laid back approach and attitude to life (in comparison to Downes he said, he knew what he wanted at that point in time and had a lot more drive to achieve it). Maybe Woolfie has seen what the other two have gone on to do in the game and has decided to concentrate more, or maybe he’s just a slow developer? He has most certainly improved with Edmundson alongside him, and hopefully the better coaching and change in style of play at the club he will continue to develop further. We shall know if that is the case if Clubs from higher up the pyramid start sniffing around. But he’s definitely a different prospect now to just a season ago .

And maybe that is also down to good management, coaching and a tactician who can utilise his strengths and minimise his weaknesses? It is never a good look if the player holds a grudge but, as already stated, understandable.

I've been very sceptical of woolfy's desire to put a foot in and willingness to get hurt in the past. I still don't think he'd be up to it in a 2 as he's likely to have to do much more of that. Yesterday i had some sort of epiphany halfway through the first half though: what we really needed against the long throws and corners wasn't an nsiala who would kick it and head it and block it but someone who was as calm as woolfy so that we didn't get sucked into just clearing it. Instead he had the composure to get hold of it under ectreme pressure and play out. He needs two fighters next to him, and JD and edmundson were also excellent yesterday, but it's working really well at the moment. On a side note, KM's man-management skills clearly aren't too shabby given woolfenden and jackson's resurgence, and the way he's got morsy out of his funk.

It also helps when you'r not facing your own goal for 80% of the game and being asked to play an unnatural game, playing on the wrong side of a back 2 at times as well and being tasked with being the only ball playing cb next to Toto with a static midfield in front of you being marked and no outlet to play the ball resulting in more on ball mistakes yourself.

Is it not human nature (for most people)? If a boss treats someone or in this case lots of people like sh1t at work then a lot of them taking delight in things going wrong for that boss in the not too distant future seems very natural to me. Not sure if it is a good look or not but, in my opinion, it is a natural reaction.

Wolfy was a couple months away from being forced out of the club he's been with for many many years, it's no suprise he fancies a bit of 'ha' to PC.

No, it is not human nature to post negative comments on social media. In private, fair comment. No need to demean yourself in this way.

No comment on whether this is deserved or not. No need to do it publicly,. You cannot come out of this looking well.

It’s a natural reaction, agreed. I understand it. But it’s a pretty pointless reaction. When Cook called out the players publicly last season, I thought it stupid. Same when players do it. However justified, it serves no purpose. Say what you have to say to their faces and leave it there is the best way in my view.
