Has been a hell of an effort to take it this far in fairness.

Will be an interesting summer in terms of how much of a threat they will be next season.

Tougher than Reading would have been?

An odd situation where 23rd in the division is relegated whilst 24th still has a chance of survival.

If they keep most of the side together they'll likely be a real contender.

Remember without the points deduction, they'd be comfortably midtable so it's an unusual situation where a team that has performed as a good championship side is going to find itself playing in the third tier

Can they sign any players in the summer?

Also... weren't town forced to sell players.. how come that hasnt happened at Derby?

Am I right in thinking they will be getting another point deduction anyway so are likely going to be starting on -15 points.. plus most of their side is out of contract so going to be a brand new side.. could be a Wigan or could be a Bolton to be honest.

I've always wondered how they've managed to keep hold of and pay the likes of Stearman, Davies, Forsyth, Byrne, Bielik, Lawrence and Kazim-Richards whilst pleading poverty.

Anyone would think that they are a totally corrupt club.

Whereas I don’t take any glee in their plight I can’t really see them being a real force in L1. Their better players will want to leave, they won’t have much of a budget and they are run in a totally outrageous manner.

And with that see how they’ll storm the division.

They'll be another Wigan - scrape survival next season then be automatically promoted in 23/24.

Or having changed the entire team they could do an Ipswich. Think I read somewhere they signed 19 players last summer and really haven’t cut the mustard this season.

Reckon they are more likely to be another Bolton. Another points deduction, relegated to League 2 and rebuild from there

Depends if their takeover goes through. Mad old Uncle Rooney is telling new preferred owner that he needs 40 players, and the new fella seems on board with it. I am happy to see them down, but pi55ed off we have to compete with them in the transfer window again, especially if going to Derby tugs at heartstrings for players (like Rangers did when they folded and then became Rangers.)

Yep, all depends on whether they start next season on -15 or not.

Initial reports was they were exiting admin by only paying 10p in the pound, which would trigger an automatic 15 point deduction next season.

They are also likely to be under extra restrictions on spending even under the new ownership until they have proven financial viability.

And finally the new owner has to pass the EFL Director test, but given some of the showers that have I assume this will simply happen...

You think we will have this squad next season?

There will be change but not revolution over the summer. It is important we get the right players in over the summer. We also need to shift more out.

Since we are in a division with Derby, Sunderland, Portsmouth, Sheffield Wednesday, Bolton, Charlton, Barnsley, Peterborough, Oxford, Plymouth and Wycombe then we will do well to finish top half.

Either that or we need to stop worrying about the history and reputation of clubs and play the teams they put out on the pitch. That includes finding ways to beat the likes of Cambridge, Morecambe, Exeter and Accrington as well as being better than those listed above.

With the attitude that a team like Derby in a mess is too big for us, we are never going to get back to the Championship let alone live with the top end of it.

Hopefully not . Bit if there are yet more wholesale changes people had better be prepared for yet more time to settle for the players ... I think there is a need for players with more grit and physicality to get out of this division... what do you feel ?
