V disappointed Money Penny. Sargent Tom seems out of his depth. I thought Badenoch came across much better this time. The other two were a bit like a couple of warhorses slugging it out.

I never heard anything about more coppers, nurses or schools. The only thing they promised was that they would wait and see what the independent pay review bodies say on public pay before telling them it cannot be afforded and go away and suggest even less. (Although, of course, as ever the independent review body's recommendation on MP pay will be readily accepted once again.)
The main message from all (except Sunak who they point out has made a mess of the economy while they were part of the same Government) was cut taxes and we can't afford public services.

1) We can still reduce our own reliance on fossil fuels. Whilst our numbers have gone down quite a lot recently that is somewhat masked by the fact that our reported numbers do not include the carbon used to make items we import, which given our shift away from manufacturing is a bit of a cheat. 2) We still have diplomatic clout which we should be using. 3) Generally we have pretty good engineers in this country, which we could be using to develop new technologies to help drive green energy not just here but across the world. Making it easier for everyone to transition is a bonus to everyone. 4) We can give aid to nations who cannot use the fossil fuel shortcuts we did to "modernise".
There are a whole load of things we could be doing but as usual people like yourself will just come out with "but China / India / Other country".

I applaud your earnest beliefs - but reality has to impinge on those trusted to lead us in a competitive world.
I think you’ll find that quite a few countries rather hope global warming is real. It opens up arctic trade routes and resources. In Russia for example they’d very much like to be 1.5 degrees warmer and see New York flooded.
They’d love to see posturing western countries hamstring their economies and outsource their manufacturing - in China say.
And in Australia they (and the Brits apparently) are very happy to trade on the other side of the world whilst selling vast tonnages of coal to China and India
Meanwhile Prime Minister Richi Rich will of course be trumpeting a flagship trade deal with India to further hasten the end of the world

What an incredibly simplistic, defeatist, and selfish view. Global warming/ climate change is unlikely to massively affect us, but our kids and their kids it will. But you carry on shrugging your shoulders with the “Well I can’t do anything about it and quite like a proper summer” attitude. It’s easier that way for you.

Any other vote would suggest they didn't still support him. They supported him until a month or so ago. They have only got rid because his position has become untenable. I doubt many think he has really done anything wrong. Just listen to how Truss and Mordaunt dance around any invitation to criticise him at all. If the party didn't still support Johnson, there would be no harm in saying why he is unsuitable. Instead, Tugendhat does that and is voted out.
