RIP Bernard Cribbins. 09:13 - Jul 28 with 1636 viewsStochesStotasBlewe

Sad to hear that he’s passed away.
For those of us who are keen anglers, he was an accomplished fisherman and was a wonderful part of the cast of the very excellent Passion For Angling.
Might just have a little watch of that again this evening.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

RIP indeed. Jackanory was a significant part of my childhood. An immensely long and distinguished career.

Top "all round entertainer" - also remember my Dad having a copy of him singing "When I'm 64" - the way he sang it was far more authentic than The Beatles.

My dad knew him as a child, playing on the streets of Oldham in the early 30s though dad was a few years older. Children of mill workers.

They can fill the 'ole in, now!

RIP.

I do hope he's requested that Hole In The Ground is sung at his funeral.

(He himself sang it at George Martin's memorial service, as George was the producer of the single.)

Perhaps he got an infection from the telephone.

They'd all laugh at me if they knew what I was trying to do. To create a new strain of super-wine in half-an-hour with a fraction of nature's resources and a FOOL for an assistant. 'Bernard Black, he's mad,' they'd say, 'he's insane, he's dangerous.' Well I'll show them! I'll show them all!
