No I really miss playing 8 defensive players against the bottom of the league side who hadn’t won in like 20 games and scrapping a draw in the last second of the game.

Mick Mills? Definitely. Might be a few issues over his fitness, but what a great player! Left or right back and could play midfield too!
Mick O’Brien? I think he lost his job over a personal life indiscretion, so the Americans might not be in favour.
Mick Lambert? He knew how to win a free kick or two! Top player.

Mick McCarthy? No thanks.

Mick who was sacked in order to bring in McKenna only last year? That one?

Otherwise your post makes no sense.

He's been gone for 4 and a half years.

I really don't see any point in going over pro and anti Mick arguments again.

You also forgot Mick McNeil. Nice fella - I had a Saturday job in his sports shop in Bury for a while. As a total sports freak I was properly living the dream!

Mick D'Avary for sure.

I think he preferred to be called Mich.

No. Wouldn’t have wanted Mick back when Hurst very quickly proved he was useless and certainly wouldn’t now. So good to finally have a team that can play good football.

There’s also no way we could have enticed him back even if we wanted to.

I wonder what Mick McCarthy would do with the backing of the current owners and at this level. I am sure it wouldn't be as attractive as what McKenna is offering us but I am also sure it would be far more attractive than the Mick of the end of his reign under a ME budget in the Championship. I am also sure that he would get us promoted too.

This is Mick McCarthy who brought us teams with Lawrence, Fraser. Celina, Murphy, Waghorn, Garner and McGoldrick as well as the negativity already mentioned.

No, that season under Mick McGiven was desperate stuff.

Gladly, if we could turn the clock back to summer 2015 and if someone was offering him the Championship equivalent to the outlay we're able to use in League One.

McKenna is great, but he's only the second manager we've had in the last decade who has been able to get the team performing in a consistently positive and successful manner. Mick McCarthy was the other one to do that. Using a high performing League One manager as a stick to beat a high performing Championship manager (in ITFC terms) is silly.
