Personally I think they won’t want to rock the wage boat.. unless a lack of goals starts costing us, then probably not this season.. maybe next if we get promoted..

Why, Ladapo is going to be on fire.

I think we are going to become very reliant on him as the season wears on. I just don't see Jackson/JJ in that role personally. I'd be worried if Ladapo picked up an injury.

Unless we are forced to through injury, I’d say not. That goes for the rest of the team too.

We have a recruitment team in place and hopefully a strategy to go with it. I hope if we do make any acquisitions, they are planned and there is none of the shambolic nonsense we had under Lambert with loanees and a bloated, unbalanced squad.

Edit: I’m sure there won’t be. It’s a different club

We wanted Hirst/Keane almost right up until the deadline. Ahadme was a cheap punt. Our powder is pretty dry if the right person becomes available in Jan I'd say. And it's an easier conversation to have with a player if you are sitting in the top 2 (hopefully) as well.

I can see an experienced prem or championship loan striker myself. Someone not getting first team minutes at the tail end of their career but capable of doing some damage at this level in the short term.

Adebayo Akinfenwa? Or not quite that large?

We’re doing ok without the striker everyone seems to want, so I don’t see why we should. If Ladapo can get in a grove he could be just fine.

Wouldn't surprise me although I think it might be a loan just for insurance if everyone is fit.

I'd buy the best stirker from one of our closets rivals. Last team we did that we got promoted.

We've seen what happens when John Jules and Jackson are up top the last 2 games.

Definitely not as effective as Ladapo.

I thought JJ was not great yesterday. Did OK first half but second half when we couldn't get hold of the ball for a bit, he seemed a bit pathetic and weak.

Ladapo has had. His critics but the games I've seen he's been the best we've got upfront.

Luckily we have others to score too so we aren't overly reliant.

Wouldn’t surprise me, fact we chased big signings so late into window shows a gap there - maybe one in and Ahadme out on loan to get games at this level as still very inexperienced and had started season well

I think either Ahadme makes an impact in next 3 months, in which case we're well set, or more likely we loan him out as you say and get a more established striker in to strengthen us.

There is space in the squad so if we are still pushing at the top of the table, I'm almost certain someone else will come in up top to see us home.

I think JJ has had his two best games from the striker position. Jackson recently had a good game from that position too. JJ is deceptively strong and has excellent control. So you can play it into his feet at pace and expect him to do something with it quickly (which isn't Ladapo's strongest point). But he's on a par with me when it comes to heading. He seemingly has very little interest in genuinely competing for it. Which means if he is up top we need to play in a different way to how we do when Ladapo is up front. Jackson also pulls defenses around in a different way, more stretching them with his pace. Again, both are capable of doing a job from that position, we just have to play to their strengths. JJ would become my default 9 out of the two.

I don't think we'll be too fussed about wages, how else do you think we managed to attract Walton, Chaplin, Morsy, Edmundson, Davis etc.
