Top 8 head-to-head table. 18:09 - Oct 1 with 3647 viewstractordownsouth

Now Derby have overtaken Cambridge, the top 8 is made up entirely of clubs who would have expected to be there this season, so thought it might be interesting to keep track of how they're all doing against each other.

Apart from Plymouth, everyone is roughly as good as each other in the head-to-heads and our record, whilst it isn't brilliant, isn't something to be concerned about. It's going to be a hell of a fight for those top two spots but if we keep putting away the poorer teams like we have so far this season, then we'll be in with a shot.

(Edit: apologies, the figures looked a bit more in line when I posted the table.)

That is a strong record for Plymouth and they are home to Sheffield Weds midweek which will be interesting.

Can’t answer for all as not seen them all play weekly, but Ipswich Did beat Portsmouth, should have beaten weds but for a linesman who was obviously checking his emails and should have beaten Barnsley but for a ref who was clerevoyant and saw something no one else did
2nd Pompey pen was dubious???
About time we got the decision? Surely we are owed some

Makes for interesting reading tractordownsouth and well done in putting the time in to work this all out as it takes time. That terrific win for us today has helped and it will certainly give our squad plenty of confidence in going forwards. Got to say, Plymouth’s record is rather impressive, only dropping two points against Portsmouth last week, looks like they could be the ones to catch this season.

Bolton's penalty was very soft as well.

Truly impaired.

I had a look at how many points Wigan and Rotherham secured against the rest of last seasons top 6.

Champions Wigan got 9 points out of the 30 available, while runners up Rotherham got 13.

Our failings last season were getting just 4 points from 8 matches against teams promoted from L2 the season before.

Very impressive from Plymouth although they will have much of these bigger clubs away from home in the second half of the season

Plymouth's record is superb - but should be tempered by the fact that all their wins were at Home Park, and only time played a top side away from there was a draw

It seems they've played a lot of the top sides so far this term. It may be that they find the going tougher against those that play a low block against them. Hopefully they don't have the depth through the winter months to win those edgy encounters on the road against the lesser sides. Fair play to them for their start though.

PPG would be a good column to add to that, tractordownsouth, and probably to sort on too.

And yet they are only a point ahead of us - maybe the record against the top 6 isn’t quite as crucial as some believe
