At end with the booing and dog's abuse. Can't blame him. Fickle fans.. Frustrating but still a long way to go!

I often wonder what players really think of fans. Especially fans away, who think because they've spent some money they can shout anything they like if the players are courteous enough to go over and thank them . (I'm not talking about Town in particular here.)

Wonder if he still thinks we’re exactly where we want to be.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Maybe they should try running towards adversity.

Generally on the side of 'booing and shouting abuse/criticism' at your own players is unnecessary but they can't be surprised that an awful result against an awful team making the playoffs begin to look more likely than autos is met with a lot of frustration.

The fans have had nothing to shout about for absolutely years and it looks like the team is cocking up the best opportunity they've had in ages to give them something to celebrate.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Highly paid player upset at fans showing disapproval for effectively paying him despite being rubbish again.

Well done the fans for showing its not good enough.

Better than hearing the manager saying its OK another 20 games to do. 19. 18. Etc etc.

a niche perspective

I can blame him. Good support, money chucked at the team and making the play offs (just) is the best we can hope for. Instead of not looking impressed perhaps Wes and co can put in a performance or two.

The money has been put in, the structures are in place, the support is there, the time for reasons, excuses, etc etc etc are over. Time to deliver. The trouble is that time has passed us by now.

A draw at Cambridge? No excuses, no fog. Not good enough if you want to get out of this pitiful, poor standard division.

Not sure i'm bothered by that.

In general I really don't like it but after this run I am not too concerned with the players getting a bit of stick.

Truly impaired.

That's fair enough, but booing?
Come on.
Surely we've got to be better than that?
The play offs was the minimum requirement and we will comfortably finish in the top 6.
Top 2 may well have gone, but we have to back the team, even if we are frustrated today.

I've never booed the team or the players in over 50 years of supporting Town.

To use adapt a patriotic phrase, for me it's "My club, right or wrong."

He was rubbish again and has been for the majority of the season. Poor delivery when he does get in behind.

In the 92nd minute being out run and bullied off the ball that lead to a throw and then FK in a dangerous position.

Another one with a gutless display who probably thinks he's better than he is.

To be fair.
Given some of the performances of late. They've done pretty well to not hear any booing until now.

2nd was the minimum requirement, and even that would have been seen as underperforming.

It was quite a strange interaction. I was there and there wasn't that much booing. Most fans were just not clapping or just shaking their heads at him.

Really think it's harsh to call any ITFC fan fickle. We haven't had anything to cheer about in 20 years+. This season has the feeling of a Lambert implosion looming now.

No idea why he came over really closely to clap the fans after a pretty poor personal performance. He and Morsy were particularly poor today.

Keogh was excellent.

I think footballers view fans in the same way shop assistants view customers. The friendly ones are ok but in the main, they don’t like them. Especially the ones who get abusive or say ‘I pay your wages’.

We’re not better than that, sadly. We’re not unique though. Every fanbase seems like this. I don’t like it at all. It shows a mixture of impatience and emotional immaturity imo. Sure, emotions run high but it’s not a good look on anyone to be frothing at the mouth with anger and booing their OWN team (I’ not a fan of attacking other teams either, but that’s another story). My first thought is disappointment not a wish to abuse someone. But that’s life now - herd mentality, too many feckwits and not enough breast feeding as kids imo.

Have to disagree. Have noticed over last 5 to 6 years or so that our away following now has significant minority who are pretty fickle. There was some really unpleasant reaction at Oxford game too. That sort of reaction appropriate with a side phoning it in and not running, that's not where we are today. We drew an away game. It happens to everyone.

Id rather they came and clapped than didn't! Wes needs our support. He's been a really good player for us and every player has their ups and downs.

I don’t do booing either. Never have. But if the people who pay to go wish to, that’s their prerogative. If Burns or any other player wants to get flouncy about it, tough. Maybe their thin skin weakness is why we cannot come close to beating the likes of mighty Cambridge away. Maybe it’s why at the first time of pressure from a team showing a bit of grit like Charlton away, they fold up.

Good teams have heart, guts, work ethic, the ability to earn the right to play because if you have that, your superior skill will win through. Our multitude of players have the skill but the other elements?

As frustrating as our form is currently, anybody booing this group of players as a team still sitting in 3rd in the league is a helmet I’m afraid.
