Luongo on 16:01 - Mar 5 with 3526 views | Nthsuffolkblue | I don't think it would be fair to make that call based on just a few appearances. Luongo is fresher but returning from injury. If Morsy can get back to his very best and Luongo can be as good, then it bodes very well for us. Where do Camara, Ball and Evans, let alone Humphreys then fit in? A nice headache for McKenna to have anyway. Is El Miz a CM too? (I think he is.)

Didn't Orient say they were playing him deeper too with success?

Yep, and don't forget Humphreys' excellent cross near the end which nearly led to a goal from (I think) Harness. '
Luongo on 16:32 - Mar 5 with 3290 views | DJR | This from below the Andy and Stu react video. "Wednesdayite here, Luongo had incredible stats for us, his ability to break up attacks and get in crucial challenges is second to none, his stats in the Championship were top six, unfortunately he picked up a lot of knocks, got sent off a couple of times by over eager referees. You've got a real asset there, trick is keeping him fit." | | | | Login to get fewer ads

It's been a real bonus how well they have played together so far and how Morsy has had more of a positive impact in terms of pressing forward. I have to say I didn't see that coming. I was concerned that they would be too alike. Happy to be proved wrong.
Luongo on 18:29 - Mar 5 with 2927 views | LegendofthePhoenix | I have to admit, I was a little underwhelmed when we took him on - thought he was gonna be injury prone, past his best, and no improvement on what we have. But wow!, what a performance yesterday. If he can stay fit and make that sort of contribution, I can see us going unbeaten to the end of the season.

Luongo on 18:56 - Mar 5 with 2842 views | Tractorgirlforever | Morsy is better in my opinion, thetes no better player in league 1 than morsy, also the way he is holding back slightly, knowing that a booking will see him miss 2 games, but still being so influential is incredible. It will be great credit to him if he gets through the next 3 games or so without a yelliw card. Fantastic player.

Luongo on 19:58 - Mar 5 with 2743 views | DinDjarin | Going against the grain here. Morsy is fantastic player for us but I would say Luongo has more to his game. Has played more championship games and also has many more international callups than morsy. Lucky to have both of them.. [Post edited 5 Mar 2023 19:59]

Luongo on 20:53 - Mar 5 with 2572 views | BigCommon | Bit early for that sort of claim, imo...But he certainly looks like another midfield "boss ". As mentioned on another post. He'll help get the best out of Morsy. Think Morsy has had to shepherd Humphreys a bit. But played better, with an experienced pro like Evans alongside him. So I think Luongo, will have a similar effect on Morsy's game.
Luongo on 09:09 - Mar 6 with 2136 views | NORFOLK_BLUE | In short, yes. Don't get me wrong both are fantastic footballers on thier day and we are lucky to have both however, Luongo just seems to have a bit more about him. Going forward he looks for the opening for a through ball whilst Sammy always wants to go sideways. To many times he has 'burst' forward and then rather than shoot or play a penetrative pass he goes sideways. Like i said, both very good, but if it was my call then i would start Evans/ Cam with Luongo and use Morsy to kill the game when needed.

Morsy is the absolute heartbeat of this team. People are of course entitled to their opinions but I find it mad anyone would suggest he doesn't start.

You put up a good case for resting Morsy tomorrow. Likely to be a niggly midfield battle and the last thing we need is for him to miss the next two games.

Luongo on 12:16 - Mar 6 with 1718 views | JackNorthStand | No. Higher level than Humphrey’s, Ball and Evans though ( and I rate Evans and Humphrey’s highly ). Luongo and Morsy definitely the starting 2.

I just personally think he slows us down a little bit. We looked much a thret when Evans was in the side. It just seems a bit pedestrian in the middle without him now, maybe Luongo is the one to offer that attacking spark with Evans injured. Thats why i sit in the stand and watch, rather than being on the touchline choosing the team!

Luongo on 12:50 - Mar 6 with 1577 views | itfcjoe | They've both had similar careers - good players in League One, Championship and on international stage. if both of them playing to full ability there woudn't be much between them - so the key is just keeping them both fit and available as won't lose many midfield battles if we do
