It's worth taking into account though that he's been one of the key reasons for their success in the last few years.

Ah didn’t see that. Based purely on ability it’s a big yes from me, Burgess replacement obvs.

You think we are now too big for a championship experienced CB with a 3rd place finish to his name? Blimey

Not sure that is true but even if it is, a footballer trying to get the best deal is not exactly news.

Indeed. I like Burgess very much but Bradley is in a different class.

Assume he's got a pre-contract agreement at another club sorted, maybe one already established in the Prem. Otherwise its a very odd announcement!

| Sonny Bradley leaving Luton.. on 12:32 - May 10 with 3726 views | JackNorthStand | No thanks, didn’t want to join the “ project “ last season instead opting for Luton. Shows his ambition, all be it Luton have had a good season, their ceiling is much lower than that of Ipswich. Edit: To be fair to him Paul Cook was our manager at the time, we weren’t such an attractive proposition then in fairness. [Post edited 10 May 2023 12:35]

He's only started 33 games across last 2 seasons and 32 in September - may be a decent squad option but think we'd be aiming higher as a starter

They have literally finished in a high position than the season before in something like 10 of the last 11 years. They’ve improved every season, and are a couple of wins from the premier league. There’s arrogance then there’s confidence

He had a bad knee injury from November to March from what I've read and has started their last 5 - not checked to see if this due to other injuries in the side. Luton fan opinion looks to be 'this is the right time for a great servant to move on' rather than 'I can't believe he's thinking of leaving us'.

Despite him being a bit of a cult hero at Luton, they don't appear too concerned he's going, which is quite telling. He might go to Plymouth.

He might go to Exeter, but take a deflection off Torquay and end up in Plymouth.

And chose to remain in a higher division, avoiding an Ipswich who as we discovered, weren't ready for the Championship return

I know the deal was all but done for him to come here before he changed his mind. I actually think our offer was higher than Luton's but they obviously got close enough for him to opt to stay there.

I would guess if they went up, they don't want him. And if they don't then for whatever reason couldn't agree a deal (Money, squad status etc). From the story it seems like it might have been announced as "he deserves a great send off."

If I remember rightly they also lost their other CB on a free after trying to keep him so presumably moved some of that money over to Bradley to get him to agree rather than lose both of them
