If this happens what do we reckon, flop or success?

I'm going for flop, I reckon he's more of a fish and chaps, pint down the pub kind of fella than a tapas and sangria, followed up with a bowl of hot chocolate kind of guy,

Don't boil a kettle on a boat.

The bowl of hot chocolate is more of a breakfast or "merienda" (high tea) thing, so wouldn't usually follow tapas or sangria.

(Always imagined Harry Kane as more of a "highly structured meal plan in bed by 9pm" sort of guy, rather than a pint and a chippy type)

Dont get hung up on the details, my friend, what of Harry's chances?

He'd score a shed load in La Liga I reckon.

I'd expect him to be a success, I think?

Playing for an elite Premier League team is such an international experience these days - few of your team mates are English, your manager probably isn't English, you'll be playing games and touring overseas from a young age. The era where English players are destined to have a massive freak out as soon as they leave England is probably over.

Kane will adapt his game accordingly. La Liga will probably suit his game, I can certainly see him score goals out there and he'll definitely get the chances too with the quality of that side.

Yes, but can he do it on a windy night in Cadiz?

Would rather he went to United.

Anyone doubting Kane at this point hasn't got a clue. No offence.

He will have 50/50 chance of finally winning a trophy. If he wants a winners medal then go for it.

No offence taken, because, to be honest, I don't have a clue.

He would rip up La Liga, no questions and has a far better chance of winning things there, if that's his motivation.

Do you reckon he has Shearer's record on his mind though? He has a chance of doing something which could keep him at the top of the history books for an incredibly long time if he stays in the prem (Unless Haaland does stick around at Citeh of course!)

Class player, would I think suit La liga even more then the premiership. Only thing that is against him is age.

Success. He’s not as dopey as most English footballers and the change of environment could give him a new lease of life.

If the chance comes, grab it. Far better than going to Man Utd.

Pretty sure Harry Kane has never drunk a pint in his life.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

I would imagine he could be a huge success there, and deserves it tbh after playing for that bunch of pretenders for most of his career.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Nah, he went on loan to Nodge, for those three games he deserves to be a trophy dodger for the rest of his career.

Though I wouldn't begrudge him winning the Euros or World Cup with England,

Big offer incoming from Spurs for Pigott maybe then?

Kane is 30 next month & while he isn't hugely dependent on sheer pace, signing strikers the wrong side of 30 is usually a poor idea. If I were Spurs, I would cash in as he's only going to deteriorate from here & reinvest the proceeds in some emerging talent. Kane may prefer to see out his contract & hope for a mega deal next year.

I do think as fans we still have this mindset that anyone over 30 is done, and in bygone times that was probably correct, but in this day in age, with science and the lives these guys live, 30 is nothing, especially for someone like Kane who hasn't had nasty injuries and doesn't rely on pace.

For Madrid, he would be a huge signing, even if they think it will be for 2-3 years max.

I do wonder if this is at the back of his mind and that it is this individual record that drives him more than trophies. I may be talking nonsense but have thought this for a while.

I look forward to his dynamic interviews conducted entirely in Spanish, which might well be his - how you say? - mother tongue.

He probably has 4-5 decent years left, and La Liga is less intense than the EPL. With just 1 year left on his contract, Spurs could well cash in this summer, and he would be a perfect replacement/ upgrade for Benzema at Real.

Price will be interesting - he pretty much guarantees 30 goals a season, is absolutely a team player and is very low maintenance off-field. There is no other player like him on the market.

The longevity of the modern player does tend to debunk the myth of being over the hill once you pass 30, he does have glass ankles though which might limit his career at the very top but I still suspect Kane could be playing a role at big teams till he’s 35/36

It might just come down to money and where does he fancy living for a few years Manchester or Madrid…

Thing is, if he wants to leave Spurs to go and win things, rather than breaking records, then going to Utd will only give him a slightly higher chance, can't see them toppling City or winning CL, so a League Cup is really the only show in town.

Better off going to Madrid.
