What do people do when 'working from home' but there's no work to do?
My new job involves working from home sometimes. Today the one meeting I had to travel for has been cancelled. I'm now sitting at home with perhaps one or two scraps to do which will take one minute each.
You come up with lots of diversity, equity and inclusion plus environmental and carbon emissions procedures that your company can adopt. That should keep you from being laid off.

Tidy the house, or she'll moan once she gets in, because, "You've been home all day", conveniently forgetting that you've actually been at work too.
Trust me.
Oh...then knock one out whilst she's not in.

100% this.
I don't often work from home, but can do when I need to be in for something like an appointment. When I do, Mrs will be texting me lists of chores. Get the shopping done. Do a laundry load. Tidy the lounge. FFS. All of which really eats into my 'knocking one out' time. Problem I have is usually I do have enough free time to fit some of it in so can't tell her I am too busy without it being a small fib. She gets in around 4pm and catches me with YouTube on my second screen, or even the Playstation on. Busted.

Haha, I've had this discussion with Madge before.
I'm a massive binge worker. Yesterday, had a job that if I was at work with distractions would have probably taken me the day to do. Went into our sunroom, that's currently acting as our office (and is really nice to work in), headphones in, three hours later, job done. Pretty much my days work done.
There are times when there's nothing to do though. Then you need to get creative. I work with lots of French people, so got myself a Babbel subscription and started learning French. Slow progress, but you start picking up words, phrases and structure. It's nothing to do with my actual work, but benefits both myself and the workplace.
There's also times where I'll just sit with my dog and watch Netflix lol.

I have a tv mounted on the wall and a tablet mounted above my laptop.
Even when working I usually have something on. This is one of a number of walking channels on Youtube:
When literally no work I just stick one of the streaming sites on or Sky. Or do wordle. Or check TWTD. Read the news. Take a power nap. Can also get stuff done. Unload dishwasher. Put washing out. Hoover etc.

Remember watching this with my missus when it aired. At the time I was doing a lot of "working from home" on our business. Most uncomfortable 2 minutes of my life watching that sketch!

Sometimes just sit at my laptop feeling weird/guilty and try and find things to do......but mostly watch You Tube videos of people going round car boot sales and trying to re-sell shoes or Z list celebrities playing golf. Click on Team's messaging every now and again to keep the icon green.

Having WFH for about the last 10 years you soon find things to do that isn't work! I have lots of work I could do but only about 2 hours that I need to do by Thursday My wife is currently driving to Portugal so home alone, which makes it even harder to work, with 2 games coming up later I've now just opened a beer and going to lay by the pool until then.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.
