These fees seem excessive? 35 million 21:08 - Jul 4 with 6249 viewshunty21

Yes in Aston I trust and im sure there will be a load of add ons but the philogene feels more a opportune signing than one that is necessary surely we need a striker than another winger unless we will utilize our loan for a striker and goalie

£35 millions isn't excessive for the to of them. Not in the Premier League.

We have paid £18 for Omari. May pay £35 for the Hull Pair. So we are just over £50 million of a budget that I'd estimate to be £100.

We have already shown intent to pay £25 million for a quality striker. So we have another £25 million to play with for maybe 7 players. Two will be loans, we'll pick up a free or two and then bolster the squad with a few £5-7 million players.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

Bit like buying a house. You have a number in mind that you want to pay but then the seller has a number in mind that they want to receive. If you're good at negotiating, you end up somewhere in the middle. If you're not, you just pay the asking price.

Last house i bought, i somehow ended up paying more than the asking price.

Poll: Which would you accept?

I think one of the things that make people good at negotiating is not telling people you're not so good at negotiating 😂

No offence, but I'll trust McKenna's and Ashton's judgement on player signings and value for money. Track record isn't bad...

The fact Barcelona and Man United have been linked to Phillogene in fact tells the story this could be an absolute steal.

A good season in the Premiership and he is worth 40-60 million. If we went down and he stayed we already know he is a top performer at that level.

Er, I’d be highly suspicious of a player us and Palace are linked to suddenly being linked to the likes of Barcelona. That’s an agent stirring the pot.

Selling players is one thing, buying them another. There’s no way we or Palace fish in the same pool as Barcelona (unless I’m missing something). Maybe I’m miles off and he’s wanted by Champions League clubs. If he is, we can forget it.

True but if thats for the season there won't be much left for January and could he be instead of the strikers budget? We shall see no one know the budget I trust ashton and mckenna as long as we have flexibility in January and not restricted cos used it all

It is well over the top. But it seems the more we spend the better some numpties like it. Never mind what we are getting

There are a lot of 'numpties' that are well out of touch with what players cost.

If the budget is £100 then we have massively overspent already.

Hopefully no further signings and MA will be looking at where we can make cuts in the squad/Club to recoup the £17,999,900.

18 million for Hutchinson, with his age and the way he performed last season in the championship I can just about get my head around.
35 million plus add ons for two players who were in a team which finished 26 points behind us is certainly taking the juice big time.

Would work out 50 million to bring in 4 quality young players who will be worth double that in 12 months.

Tottenham are now paying £40m for Archie Gray, a year ago Brighton paid £30m for Joao Pedro and before that £20m for Webster, Villa paid £28m for Ollie Watkins

What do you think the going rate for a top Championship player is these days?

What would you rather we do, sign worse players for £8m and come straight back down?

Show some ambition. These sort of quality and potential come at a price.

£35m for both Philogene and Greaves would be great business.

Hull's position is pretty irrelevant though really in terms of valuation.

Philogene is only 22 and got more goals and the same number of assists as Hutchinson last season, as well as scoring 3 goals in 4 games for England U21s. A valuation around the same level as Hutchinson doesn't seem at all unreasonable.

Greaves was in the team of the season and seems to be considered one of, if not the best CB in the league. As I said yesterday, Webster went for £20m 5 years ago.

I'd certainly say we wouldn't be getting bargains here, but I also think the prices are probably around going rate.

Adam Wharton, £18m(rising to 22m) to Palace from Blackburn who finished nowhere near Hull in the table..

If we hadn't have gone up I can imagine Davis would be costing a Prem side at least £20m...

What are you on about?

If the budget is £100, and we've spent, as stated: "We have paid £18 for Omari. May pay £35 for the Hull Pair" then that makes a total of £53, so we're still £47 short of our budget.
