that people who post about lack of transfer activity are getting pelters. We are a week away from our first premier game and nowhere near ready. The manager has indicated we need more players. It is a genuine concern.

It is a genuine concern but we still have a decent first 11 to put out with some good options on the bench as well.

We're a bit light but this happens to most clubs in most windows. We can't be spending millions on a fee and 3+ year contract just to have more cover in the opening couple of games.

Truly impaired.

KM just said we’re two players off. To say, “we are nowhere near ready” after wins against Europa League and Champions League opposition and to call two players light, “a genuine concern” is very weak and baseless argument. Unless you’re planning to play 25 players against Liverpool.

Yawn. Liverpool have signed no-one, yet…

No but I'd say there pretty much an established premier team,

It seems that people are more hooked up on what we haven’t done as opposed to what we have done/are doing this pre season.

We’ve improved the team and we have had beaten and played well against some really good European competition in pre season. And despite what we’ve been treated to in the past 2.5 years people are not only content on wetting the bed but want to go full on soling it too.

Villa and Forest bought a whole new squad when they both came up and struggled in their first season. Two or three more before the window is shut. Done. Let’s all just get used to that and stop the hyperbole and hysteria (again).

It’s a concern there is so many posts about it…..and a concern there is a post about the concerns.

Business dealings take time in any walk of life especially football. Just sit tight and all will be fine.

My concern is it will cause more moaning than usual if we have a bad start as people will be saying should have got more in sooner….its not that simple. I can assure you all the right people are trying their hardest to get the correct deals done and the right prices.

Our best players are the ones we had last season, I can't see that we've improved the starting XI if all players are fit. Quality of the squad improved? Yes, but we still don't have enough depth. Despite doing decent business we're about 6 players short.

I think keep raising it is probably not helpful. Adds pressure to the recruitment team and they might start hiring anyone to keep people happy. We have done that a couple of times and it never works out. The team we have know the system, that is a good starting point

I get the concern but people forget about what this squad has achieved. With McKenna the sum of the parts are far greater than their individual value.

Whilst I am not saying that some of our players are World Class, to not say they are not premier league quality seems a bit shortsighted. Several players in the squad could surprise us. They not even been tested yet.

Yes, we need depth, especially with the injuries but we have to plan for 12 months / 24 months / 36 months from now. No point spending £20m on a 28 yo striker who will be 29 in a few months if we find ourselves back in the Championship.

It will come but some of the posts are very trying as it feels like ITFC are being blamed for being tardy, when in fact we've made 5 very decent signings which have all already improved a squad.

Quality over Quantity any time.

I would imagine most of those who are shouting loudest about this will be the same ones who expressed the same concerns about us this time last season. Let's just see how this plays out and support the team. If we don't sign anyone else and end up in the relegation zone on 1 January, we have still made some pretty good progress from 2-3 years ago.

I would much rather we spent our time to get the right players at the right price than overload the squad with panic buys and end up in the relegation zone but with a bloated squad full of over-priced players.

You've nailed it for me Mutters.
Not one of us is pretending we couldn't do with a couple more signings at least, but it's the implied insinuation that Aston et al are somehow derelict in their duties to flood our squad with multiple tried and tested PL players that I find incredibly frustration.
This season is going to be tough enough and our strength as a fan base is going to be crucial this year.
Everyone here is entitled to share there opinions. It's what makes the board great. But to start criticising our recruitment like some are is just introducing cracks and division we don't need before a ball is even kicked.
Calm nerves, patience and dare I say an acceptance of disappointment are what's needed.

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

Haven't seen anyone getting much of a hard time, but believe it or not, we are run by professional football people. No problem with speculation and suggestions, but the people who really know, know what is going on. We have improved our squad and starting X1 so far and I am sure that there will be new faces before the window shuts. Think we all just need to sit back and start enjoying what is about to unfold before us. Going to be a hell of a season, so just embrace it for what it is.

He didn’t say that.

To compare our activity with Liverpool is disingenuous in the extreme. Liverpool aren’t stocked players who couldn’t get in their team two divisions ago.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

You hope for the best, but you plan for the worst. Our premier league survival can't hinge on the health of a few players.

We’ve been gearing up and preparing for the prem ever since KM got here. We’ve achieved it at break neck speed. The idea that we’ve been caught cold or unaware with the backing and setup we’ve been building is a non-argument. It’s like having a baby, you’re never going to be completely ready so the fact we’d like a couple of extra bodies to start the season against Liverpool is trivial given where we’ve been.

We are allowed to sign two loan players from other Premier League clubs. I’m sure we will have more depth in the squad once that has been done.

Still best part of three weeks before window closes.

I don’t know exactly how far away we are, minimum 3, but could be up the 5 - in an ideal world that business would have been done by now, of course.

That doesn’t take away from the fact I like the players we’ve bought in, I like the group we have so far, and have absolute excitement for the Premier League campaign to begin.
