My 3000th post. Please take a quick look, it's important! 16:23 - Aug 29 with 2347 views | cbower | I make no apologies for a) the attention seeking title or b) putting this deliberately incorrectly as a football thread. In November I told this Forum I had been diagnosed with aggressive Prostate Cancer. After chemotherapy, I am now scheduled for 4hour Brachy Therapy operation next Wednesday followed by 20 sessions of Radiotherapy from 25th September. However, the real purpose of my 3000th post is to reiterate my plea to get yourself checked out fellas. And Ladies too, not for prostate cancer of course, but please don’t ignore those scan requests you keep getting. I don’t want anyone on here to have to go through this s**t if it can be avoided. Please, get checked fellow TWTDers. This Forum is a wonderful place. I know 3000 posts is not that many but this one is probably my best.

My 3000th post. Please take a quick look, it's important! on 16:32 - Aug 29 with 2259 views | IndependentlyBlue | Best of luck to you mate. Hope all goes well for you. Can only second what you say. Any doubts, get yourself checked. May not be pleasant but infinitely preferable to either chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Worth listening to the podcast series on I-Player, John Holmes Says the C-Word. Not just about prostate cancer but covers all cancers. Really good listen and will definitely make you laugh, as well as cringe

The TWTD massive is 100% behind you and want you to get through this. It's very brave of you to share this with us but bravery seems to be one of those things you have in abundance.

My 3000th post. Please take a quick look, it's important! on 17:04 - Aug 29 with 2078 views | BlueandTruesince82 | All the best for it CB. Sir Bob kicked cancers arse, you will too and no doubt the whole board wishes you well. As men we are often quite terrible at taking ourselves to rhe doctor, its so important to highlight these things. So sorry you're having to go through this but ty for raising awareness as I'd Imagine many of us wouldn't think about it

My 3000th post. Please take a quick look, it's important! on 19:06 - Aug 29 with 1811 views | urbanpenguin | Good luck and all strength to you. Both my parents had different cancers and yes, as you say, do check yourself. Indeed I have an appointment for a scan at hospital to double check something the doctor thinks isn't but it's important to check, as everybody should. Thankyou for posting.

My 3000th post. Please take a quick look, it's important! on 21:03 - Aug 29 with 1621 views | Help | My thoughts and wishes are with you. Sadly cancer is very prominent now with I believe 1 in 2 now affected. I lost my mum to cancer and it still hurts like hell. Like so many diseases and conditions that affect us they are so cruel with how they ruin people's lives and those who love them. Again, wishing you the best.

My 3000th post. Please take a quick look, it's important! on 21:44 - Aug 29 with 1540 views | jasondozzell | All the very best to you and good luck with the treatment. I had bowel cancer a few years ago at a very young age and had chemotherapy before and after an op. This forum really helped and following Town and keeping up to date with news and forum posts was a big part of my recovery. I'm nearly 5 years without evidence of disease. NHS are brilliant and really looked after me - you'll get good care too. You're dead right about getting checked out. You will get there and we're all rooting for you. All the best. COYB! My 3000th post. Please take a quick look, it's important! on 22:40 - Aug 29 with 1303 views | Churchman | Not attention seeking at all. Please keep us informed of how it goes. The good and the tough path you are on. However hard, you chose to push people to get themselves checked out. It’s a true lifesaver message that nobody should ignore. Mrs C has been treated for this dreadful disease this year. She was picked up early and should be fine after the full hysterectomy and radiotherapy - simply as a product of getting herself checked out for another problem. So your message is 100% regardless of gender or anything else. Thank you.
