Trying to put it in perspective but... 21:38 - Nov 2 with 4556 views | Edmundo | I can't help coming back to the conclusion that we aren't welcome in the Prem. The corruption has shown with Leicester getting away with their financial shenanigans, paving the way for all 103 charges against Man City coming to nothing. Meanwhile we are toeing the line, and will probably have to grovel to get Cat 1 academy status from the quango that awards such things. And don't get me started on referees: no difference between them and the clowns that reffed the L1 nonsense (e.g. Wycombe 2019). Anyone else sniff corruption and the desperate desire for a closed shop Premier League?

It's not a conspiracy though, is it? If Chaplin penalty decision *was* reviewed by VAR, which Kieran said was the case, how in the holy hell did they come to the conclusion it was nothing?!

Because a lot of the laws require subjective interpretation. We aren’t the first and won’t be the last to think we’re hard done by. Leicester will no doubt feel both those big decisions today were correct.

I've spoken to 5-6 Leicester fans post-match and all of them admitted they got off lightly re. penalty shout.

No, that's the problem. We aren't creating enough. We haven't done in the majority of our games compared to the chances we've conceded. VAR isn't corrupt. It's rubbish and ruins football but there's no conspiracy to relegate us. Realistically we just aren't good enough at the moment

O'shea missed a sitter, Hirst had a decent chance. We didn't draw solely because of VAR. I hate VAR, but I hate the fan hysteria around VAR even more.

I honestly can't see why you wouldn't think it was a pen. If that was given against us, I would be far more sanguine than the pens that have actually been given against us. Sometimes I wonder if people are trying to be so objective that they become bias against their own team (not having ago at you or your opinion).

I don’t know, if, say, Burgess had completely flattened a player and made no attempt to get or contact the ball I’d be mighty relieved to escape a penalty and to somehow end up a player up 8 seconds later.

I’ve asked a couple of posters if they think the ref was balanced, even handed and fair today. I don’t just mean those two game turning decisions either. Do you? If you do then I presume you will be piling in on McKenna who was clearly unhappy at the game (was I think booked) and after. Personally, I thought it was one of the worst refereeing performances I’ve seen in years. At best he was weak and played like a fiddle by Leicester’s players. Mind you I am amazed Davis wasn’t sent off for diving when that player stamped on him towards the end of the game. Or maybe for complaining and hobbling too much.

I'd only seen it once during the actual game. Decided to take a look with fresh eyes now and I take it back, it's clumsy enough that if it went against you, youd struggle to complain

Most penalties at this level are soft, it's rare to see a defender wiping an opposition player out completely for a pen. The pens against us: Man City, very, very soft - the guy was going nowhere. The Brentford one, daft from Clark, but soft.

20 years ago I’d have agreed with you. The PL is soft as sh1te though these days. The bar for what is a foul is so bloody low that this decision jumps straight over it.

If any of our team had knocked over an opposition player in the penalty area, I'm not going to be complaining that's given ffs. That's a stone cold penalty any day of the week, at worst it's a free kick...which means it's still a penalty!!!

Trying to put it in perspective but... on 03:30 - Nov 3 with 2291 views | SoCalTownFan | The subjectivity exposes the bias, or if you want corruption, the referees have. The "heat of the moment" errors that could be excused are replaced by 2 bent refs in a office demonstrating they still get it wrong in favour of established teams even with a video replace from multiple angles. That's not subjectivity- that objective corruption VAR for "clear and obvious errors" like not giving the Chaplin penalty....?? How about the FA cup semi final desperation to disallow the Coventry goal. If you are looking for a clear case study of how refs are controlled by the money men and operate to give the "right" results to the big team, look no further than that lucrative Manchester Derby cup final they engineered out of nothing.

No we didn’t create a lot. Certainly none more so than a penalty. We have to fight tooth and nail for everything we get in the PL. So when that’s taken away from you people will rightfully be pissed off. I don’t need to be told otherwise by people like yourself.
