Why have we only now just put in an actual bid for Cajuste? (n/t) on 12:43 - Jul 8 with 3007 views | Big_Jase | Maybe we have got the nod from his agent that he would agree to our terms? No point waisting time on bidding for a player before getting the heads up from his representatives that he would agree to join.

Why have we only now just put in an actual bid for Cajuste? (n/t) on 12:45 - Jul 8 with 2957 views | SheffordBlue | I think that was just the way that article/tweet was written and then translated. Pretty sure that was a follow up bid to the one that went in a while ago but happy to be told that's rubbish!

This seems to be the way most transfers work now, not sure it’s entirely above board but I think clubs want a clear indication that the player is interested and will agree terms prior to negotiating with the selling club

Why have we only now just put in an actual bid for Cajuste? (n/t) on 12:56 - Jul 8 with 2726 views | RIPbobby | Presumably we thought that he was out of our price range. Once the bid has been accepted with Beskitas they have given us the value we need and we can join in. Had we started earlier it may have lead to a bidding war and the price would be inflated. This way we can get him at a price we like and Beskitas have done all the hard work for us. A bit sneaky, but sensible economics.

Why have we only now just put in an actual bid for Cajuste? (n/t) on 12:59 - Jul 8 with 2664 views | Radlett_blue | If you believe the stories, the transfer fee for Cajuste has dropped, or maybe the fee Town had committed to pay reflected the money available in the PL? At a transfer fee of £5m or so, he'd be a good signing for us, but maybe his agent is trying to flush out some interest from PL clubs? Cajuste himself might prefer a permanent deal & a 3 year contract, rather than being a roving mercenary.

Why have we only now just put in an actual bid for Cajuste? (n/t) on 13:00 - Jul 8 with 2642 views | Swansea_Blue | Well according to Phil we had already put a very competitive package to him and this is a “new” approach to Napoli. So that all sounds like we’ve been there before.

Are we increasing the offer to Cajuste himself, or Napoli? Surely it must be a better offer to Jens as we'd meet the same fee as Besiktas?

Why have we only now just put in an actual bid for Cajuste? (n/t) on 13:52 - Jul 8 with 1974 views | bluesbrothers | That's not the case and a "bid" isn't the problem. It's the whole package. We thought we were close the end of May. My guess is we're finding other targets harder than expected and so having walked away from this one, we're now back at the table.
Why have we only now just put in an actual bid for Cajuste? (n/t) on 14:02 - Jul 8 with 1814 views | J2BLUE | No evidence that is the case. Anyway, these days the official bid seems like the least important part of a transfer.

Blimey everyone don’t get your knickers in a twist, calm down, calm down. The foreign journos are (have been) saying this is the first concrete offer to Napoli. We may have offered Cajuste terms already, but doesn’t mean we had sent an offer to Napoli?? Or it could’ve been lost in translation?

lost in translation is possible or it could be that random twitter users know less than local journalists about itfc's bids!

You mean the random twitter users that are foreign journalists with closer connections than our local journos and where the info is mostly coming from?

You would know far more than me given your posting history but from the player's perspective, I guess it wouldn't make sense to take an offer from a championship team right at the beginning of the window either? With a world cup next summer, I would guess he would want to play top flight football if at all possible. Albeit, I think the Champ is higher quality than the PL.

Oh well, if foreign journos have said something it must be true. I mean, unlike our ITK shower they never lie.

Literally the journos providing info who Phil is doing some reports up from.
