| Just heard from my son at Oxford 22:10 - Nov 28 with 2673 views | GreenwichBlue1 | He is a great fan and travels a long way to make it. Experience tonight was blighted by fans around him who swore all night and were so negative about our players. We have some entitled prats in our fan base. We can’t expect to boss this league with fans who undermine the team. | | | | |

Ah no, we do have some right abusive scrotes following us. I’m sure we’re not alone, but it’s not pleasant to be near them.

And swearing! | | | |
| Just heard from my son at Oxford on 02:07 - Nov 29 with 1811 views | football | What did he honestly expect? I was at the game and will admit I spent a lot of time swearing and chastising the play many of the players. It was an awful display and marginally worse than Hull. fans are entitled to express their views like that when they travel the miles and spend the money and get rewarded with that. | | | |

Expecting it isn't entitlement but demanding it and throwing your toys out of the pram because it didn't happen definitely is. It's football, it's two teams over 90+ minutes and there is no pre-determined outcome. If people think there should be, they're watching the wrong sport.

I've been going since the mid 1980s, and it does feel that since the double promotion away days have been spoiled by an element that is fine if we win, but any setback turns them into pretty grim characters to be around. And one week a player is a world beater we'll sell for millions, but the following week they're sh**e and we should give them to Burton Albion on a free transfer. Spoilt brats who get behind the team if they win, but a draw or a defeat and the gloves come off.

It’s called expectancy, under mick we knew what we were getting so braced ourselves for an away day that was a good day out decent results were a bonus. Now we’re spending millions so rightly expect better!!

Yes but sadly the expectation is that we will win every week. Last few games are a case in point. Win 4-1 at QPR. Not much said, happy with the performance. Draw 1-1 with Watford. Awful, panic, blame, McKenna has no Plan B. Win 4-1 at Swansea. Not much said. Draw 0-0 with Wrexham. Awful, panic, McKenna has no plan B. Win 2-0 at Hull. Not much said. Table looks nice though. Lose 2-1 at Oxford: These players are sh*te, McKenna has no plan B, owners must be getting worried. Those videos with Ashton about the training ground and stadium are propaganda. Anyone who claps the team off should be banned from Portman Road.

Can you imagine if the club was run the way some fans wanted? We’d be sacking managers and replacing the team every 2 weeks. Thankfully those in charge are more emotionally intelligent. The football is frustrating, but there’s a line between a bit of occasional effing and jeffing and a constant stream of vitriol and the c-word hurled at the players by foam-mouthed Neanderthals (but if that’s how Phil gets his kicks…badum tish). We're getting slightly better football than under Mick wouldn't you say? And when I say slightly better. I mean in a different stratosphere.

That first sentence absolutely nails it. Should be a sticky at the top of the forum really.

There's a very obvious reason why there's more said after defeats and it seems to be that any one who is critical of McKenna or the performance is shot down pretty quickly which attracts more and more comments Of course there's an expectation around the side at the moment, we have spent an awful lot of money, have just come down from the premier league, we're the favourites to go back up and have one of the most wanted managers in English football over the last few seasons For what it's worth I think there's more to be hopeful about than pessimistic, but I can absolutely see where a lot of the negative comments are coming from at the moment

If the people who think this is some sort of new low for the club said positive things when we win, it would be easier to accept their viewpoint. But they rarely do.
