One final post on the matter - Ashton 18:01 - Mar 26 with 1904 viewswaveneyblue

All the excitement at the thought of getting rid of Ashton makes me sick.

If that makes me a wrong-un in people's eyes, then good.

Enjoy your gloating..... you all know who you are.

(And im not going to reply or add anymore, Im sick to death of the entire thing)

Yes, but you've demonstrated your own grasp on moral integrity all week so you would think that.

This is one of the weirdest 'look at me' posts I've seen in a while.

Is this like your usual football post reply where you don't actually say anything about the post content or why you disagree, but post about how you feel about the poster instead.

If this situation happened at let's say swansea, how would you expect their fans to react?

How would you then think they'd react to finding out their chairman/ego arranged it all

AND THEN how would you think they would react when it turns out the club were still covering it up....

So not only are you happy for the club to be used as a political franchise , you are also happy for them to lie about it. Perhaps Ashton thought the club was full of numpties like you. He found out otherwise.

I'm sick of the whole incident. I wish it had never happened. But it has. And it cant be swept under the carpet. I am not one speck nearer understanding the thought process behind the whole event. Is anyone else?

Just for once, be critical of something/someone at the club. It’s okay. This is a safe space. Let it out. Free yourself. Come on.

Excitement?

No one is happy with how this week has gone. Even if he's gone in the morning, he's irreparably damaged our club.

Sponsorships will be less player recruitment harder, no one is happy with that.

My view is good riddance to bad rubbish (*personal view) but I'll not be remotely happy at how this week has gone. It's been sh1t for everyone connected to our club.

I like your positivity and support of the team when criticism of results goes OTT, and have agreed with you plenty, but the last couple of days have really been a car crash from you bud.

I get what you’re saying in a way.

It’s a bit sad if this is how he ends up leaving the club but it can be claimed that unfortunately he made his bed.

I don't remember all this flouncing when Marcus Evans was putting on events with people like George Bush and Dick Cheney, both of which have committed genocidal numbers of deaths. Strange what the media can stir up.

I love ITFC, but a large number of the fans are bellends

Wikipedia is so good isn't it?

From it, I find your username is either a drum, an album by Toto, or the name of the teenage protagonist and narrator of Tsitsi Dangarembga's acclaimed novel, Nervous Conditions - or if you stretch the spelling a bit, an album by Les Baxter...

I could have sworn I remember George Bush and Dick Cheney arriving at Portman Road, signing shirts, emblazoning it on their social media to promote the Republican party. Everyone at the time was like, this is fine, we're onboard with Ipswich being used by a political party to push a war in Iraq. Definitely double standards.

Marcus Evans was universally loved by the fanbase and no-one ever needed to create a fanzine to criticise him or anything like that.

And none of those events used the club branding.

So, yeah good point.

I liked Marcus Evans. Thought he was quite sexy too.

No one individual is bigger than the club; his failure to realise this has, it appears, been his undoing.

We were all here beforehand, we will all be here after.

We are the football club, not him.
