Today could be embarrassing... 08:27 - Aug 25 with 7459 views | itfcjoe | ....and I don't mean on the pitch. Whilst we play West Ham they also have a friendly at Wycombe Wanderers. It may be split teams of quality, but where will David Moyes as the boss? I know Wycombe are the league above us now, but that is embarrassing on it's own.

Today could be embarrassing... on 08:30 - Aug 25 with 3906 views | Bluefish | When I first saw that I just assumed Wham would have the 2nd string out for little Wycombe. It didn't occur to me at all that we are a league below them Lambert out

Why would either be paying West Ham? There's no crowd to make any money off, and it's as much in their interest as ours to play some pre-season games.

Surely we don’t pay teams to play us in a friendly?

Absolutely some teams do. Not saying we have, but it might come into play.
Today could be embarrassing... on 08:35 - Aug 25 with 3826 views | Chrisd | It is, what it is. As a club, we aren’t entitled to be higher or deserve to be. Until we start performing both on and off field we can’t even start belittling other sides. Sadly, we aren’t the ITFC from 20 years ago or from the Robson era, we’re a very pale shadow of it. Bigger sides than us have languished in L1 in recent times. [Post edited 25 Aug 2020 8:36]

If it’s down to payment I assume Evans has arranged West Ham’s under 12 team then!

funny you ask.... no I don't. however, as I was walking by the stadium from hotel to the city centre I happened to notice it, and laughed to myself that firstly they had a hall of fame, and secondly that you'd stuck chewing gum on there

They were never ending weren't they? For all we've been crap the last few years, watching those panned videos of the ground was the moment I felt like I supported a small club. It was as if none of those players expected to play there ever again.

Winds me up massively. Don't get me wrong it's a phenomenal stadium, genuinely one of the best in the world and it's not every day that we'll play somewhere like that. It did annoy me though in terms of match preparation. After the game, fine, head out after your warm down and get a few snaps, I don't have a problem with that. But to do that pre match I just don't agree with at all. I've played at some big stadia but I've never seen that before a game. As much as anything I would be embarrassed at being seen by anyone from Spurs. At the risk of going full on Roy Keane on you I just think there's a level of professionalism and standards that should be maintained, friendly or otherwise. We should cultivate a belief that we belong there, and a professionalism and desire to go and get to that level. It just felt like a school trip, or a jolly boys outing. A nice day out, rather than an exercise designed to prepare us for this season. Kitchener FC played it cooler than that at Man City ffs. Notable how Downes was about the only one not entertaining it. He's head and shoulders above most of our squad in just about everything he does. He strikes me as a proper professional, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him playing there in the league one day.

Indeed. Just because the majority of our squad now will only ever play there if their team happens to draw them away in a cup, that doesn't mean that ITFC can't be back there in the none-too-distant future. How many players stay with a club more than 5 years nowadays? We need to take one step at a time and get back to the Championship first of all.

It really doesn't. However these lads will likely never play there again, and you're begruding them a photo or two pre-game, in a friendly. Hardly the worst crime is it.

Don't think anyone said it was the worst crime. Just one very small one in a long string of crimes over a number of years. It's tin pot.
