Is a good bench, but not looking good for Wolfenden.

It speaks volumes about how poor Wolfenden has been this season. That really shouldn't be a difficult concept to grasp.

I agree. I can't see Woolfenden playing for us again this year, seeing as he is behind Wilson, Nsiala, McGuinness, and probably Chambers too now Vincent-Young is back. But whether we get promoted or not I still think we should try to keep him next year, as he could still improve, and is a very different kind of CB to Wilson, Nsiala or Chambers. He could be injured I suppose. I also think it is harsh on Kenlock to be dropped, seeing as he only had one bad game. But great to see Dobra and KVY back in the squad. COYB! | They'd all laugh at me if they knew what I was trying to do. To create a new strain of super-wine in half-an-hour with a fraction of nature's resources and a FOOL for an assistant. 'Bernard Black, he's mad,' they'd say, 'he's insane, he's dangerous.' Well I'll show them! I'll show them all! | Poll: | Who should start in CM with Cajuste? |

If he was that bad there’d be post after post about dropping him. There wasn’t. He hasn’t been as good as last year, no, but still not a complete write off. I didn’t want to derail the thread by making it another Woolfenden one though - there’s enough going around.

I don't think their performances across the season mean too much under a new manager. It gives more of an indication into how they're training and impressing (or not) under Cook.

TEAM: Four changes! on 12:09 - Mar 20 with 1289 views | Darth_Koont | Back 4 obviously very solid. A lot is going to depend on that front 6 actually using the ball well and finding space but fear that if they don’t get things right they’ll be chasing shadows. Good news is that there are lots of ways to change it from the bench. Or hopefully just to continue causing Pompey trouble.

Or Huws...or Sears...maybe not even for Kenlock and Lankester. There again, one or two may come back into the fray after a precautionary lay off.

I agree about Kenlock though, in fairness, Ward did give us a little bit of momentum when he came on on Tuesday.

It feels like PC is sussing out the squad , bringing some in from outside and others dropping out . Really hope he has time to assess who he wants to keep , as a lot might not be staying . Great to see KVY and Dobra in the squad , to bring a bit of life to the squad as it has felt flat for some time . Question mark about McGuinness in ahead of Wolfenden ? Hoping Nydam might get an opportunity soon

We know Huws and Sears are off, or should be off. Kenlock’s missed one game though it does seem harsh as he’s been one of our better performers of late, especially considering Edwards is getting bye after bye at the moment despite turning out dreadful performances.

Yes, Ward was our best player by far on Tuesday. But as he is very unlikely to be here next year, I would prefer to keep Kenlock in the team and make sure he is the certain 1st choice LB next year. Resting him for a game isn't a bad decision, but I hope he isn't dropped permanently. But, as I have said before, Paul Cook knows a lot more about football management than I do.

Kenlock did ok for a few weeks. But let’s be honest he’s a fairly limited player. I’m not saying Ward is much better by the way. Definitely an area where Cook will be looking to strengthen.

After a rest Ward may be back to his beginning of season form. No one was moaning about him then.

Think the key was from Tuesday - the formations that were played, meant that our spare men were our full backs, but neither got forward until Ward came on.

Make sure kenlock is first choice left back next year? No thanks. Hes been ok when ward went off the boil but kenlock isnt a first choice left back I'm afraid

There is no way Kenlock should be the first choice LB next year. He had a few good games, everyone including myself was happy but he reverted to the mean on Tuesday and is very limited given the way Cook wants to play with full backs. It will be Nydam or someone new next year, definitely not Kenlock. SB

I’d momentarily forgotten about Nydam - he’s an interesting thought for left back but, if it is him, I think it’ll be because we failed to get promoted this season.

BIG game for Ward on 12:24 - Mar 20 with 919 views | unstableblue | Great start to season, got up the pitch, then he fell apart combined with a Chambo spell of poor form! Feel for Kenlock who I think has done pretty well Ward was looking better in his cameo at Fleetwood

Dont forget kenlock was also back to being dodgy last Saturday I remember saying it on a thread. He sorted himself out after 15 minutes but that opening spell he was our of sorts again Exactly why he appears to have been here for 50 years but rarely seen consistently
